Thanks for all the replies - the cateye or the bargain decathlon look like what I had in mind. Something quite small / neat
Thanks for the zecto offer but I don't think it's for me - I've had one previously and the weight of it made it say on lots of bags loops.

Rear LED to clip on a bag
Looking for a small rechargeable led to clip on a loop on a pack.
Something small, reasonably weather resistant, with a slimline 'clip'
Any recommendations?

I've got an 8speed bar end shifter ton and could probably find you a mech to go with it if I rummage in the shed?

Re: Super compact double
I've also got 10speed xt chainset on my gravely bike with 42 / 28chainrings.
That has a 68mm shell and I use one of the non-series cx70 mechs Shimano made for cyclo-cross setups. 105 10speed brifters and an xt 9speed rear derailleur on a 11-36 cassette.
All runs nicely.

Re: Sold. Osprey Raptor 10 bag
Excellent packs those are. Use mine as walking daysack. Enjoy it Al  . Fan of Osprey but recent packs have got fewer secret stash pockets and whatnot. Have got an original Exos 48 which is ace but latest ones are "less complicated", ie. "more rubbish" . Yep, me too...

Ok, this is good news so far. I'll wait and see what the fit is like.
The frames a nice Matt finish so any tape is going to really stand out.

Who has a framebag with a shock cord top tube attachment???
I just splashed out on a straight cut framebag for the new hardtail. I've had various bags over the years, all of which had velcro straps of some description. Opted for a shock cord / drawstring attached to the top tube this time (mainly as I thought it looked nice and might make the zip last longer...

Re: In defence of midges
https://theconversation.com/in-defence-of-midges-234442 Apparently they're good for breaking down organic matter, as a food source for birds and bats, and tasty as a burger. I'm not convinced that these pro points outweigh the obvious bitey downsides TBQH. How many midges would you have to catch to...

Restrap bar pack SOLD
This one:
https://restrap.com/products/bar-pack
In black. Very stable design, nice bag.
Used for a while for commuting but has sat in the cupboard for last 12 months.
Had a small (less than 5mm?) hole to liner that was fixed with spinnaker tape, otherwise in great condition.
£now sold

Re: WTD 29er plus wheelset or rims
The hope kit is a bit different as it adds the extra 10mm to the non disc side with a wider end cap. You re dish the wheel away from the disc so you end up with a stronger wheel and don't have to rely on spacing the disc further outboard with longer bolts.

How does the screen size compare to an etrex ? I'm struggling with my old man eyes and wondering if this would be better

29+ front wheel - dually hope rekon
Bought from this wonderful place for my stooge but preferred 27.5 so has mostly decorated my shed wall rather than being ridden. Re: WTD: 29er Front wheel (not boost)
I've got a new boost wheel turning up tomorrow. Once it does I'll have a non boost stans arch on their neo hub. It's 15mm axle, but I'm sure you could track down some endcaps fairly easily. Send me a message if it's the sort of thing your after. I guess I'd want about £65 for it, as it's in decent n...

Re: That Tent Question
I bought a lanshan pro ages ago with a view to getting a Luna solo if I liked it. I never got one, very happy with the lanshan. It pretty light, well made and didn't cost a fortune. I like the fact it's quick to set up and offers lots of space and respite from slugs and midges. Not as adaptable as t...
