Re: Power Meters in Bikepacking
Bit of Power based patter from James Hayden of riding bikes fast in the Trancontinental... http://jamesmarkhayden.uk/transcontinental/the-power-of-fatigue-racing-transcontinental/ I like the idea of using it to 'hold back' so to speak early on in the events but cannot really imagine wanting it for m...

Bedrock Bags Honaker DT bag
Got myself a Bedrock Bags Honaker Nalgene to try out a hydration system idea but didn't like my idea in the end so selling the bag as it's surplus to requirements. Bag is in black and designed to hold a 1 litre Nalgene bottle or to be used as a small bar bag. The bag has been used three times but be...

Re: Top Tube Bags - Low Stack Height
I used an apidura one and had the same problem on my old bike. So I just folded the straps halfway along to twist them to go under the stem. Rode ht550 like that with no problems. Bag still going strong.

Re: WTD Apidura Handlebar Bag
I have a compact bar bag and the accessory pouch.
In used condition but both fully functional still. I would want to sell as a set as I'm not using it anymore.
Happy to email over some photo.

Would a BearBones monkey clip on Toptube with the bottle horizontal work? Or seatpost. Vertically sounds a good idea.

Re: Breathable Jacket Fabrics
I'm another paramo user. Have the Paramo Quito in small which fit wise is actually really un paramo like. I'm five foot 10 and skinny and its long enough in the body and arms and not too baggy. Definitely warmer and heavier than other jackets but in biblical conditions I wouldn't want to wear anythi...

Re: Down Tube Bag
I've been playing with an idea for downtube water storage. Should be testing it out this coming weekend as all the parts have now arrived. Using a Bedrock Bags Nalgene downtube bag with a Nalgene bottle in it converted into a hydration system with a Source convertube. In theory it gives me 1litre of...

Fizik Aliante VSX k:ium Saddle
Saddle for sale. £50 including postage. Only used for a few weeks and shape isn't for me. Used on a few offroad rides and saddle has gone very mudstained so selling nice and cheap even though it's excellent condition apart from that. Photos by email on request. Agreed, surely this is just a Stage Race? Nothing to do with bikepacking...

Re: Advice and guidance reqd. - water carrying and frame bag
Interesting discussion. Always love seeing everyone's different favoured setups. I usually use one bottle on the bike and one bottle in one of my three back pockets. Which is a setup I ran happily for both the HTR and Capital Trail this year. On my old bike that was using a downtube bottle and full ...

Great read Howard, I have been re-reading blogs this week of the event and to have someone's fresh perspective of the route was very enjoyable.

Some of my words about the Capital Trail towards the bottom of this, rest of it is more of a bike review for Pedals Bike Care, feel free to skip to the bikepacking event part! One 5th place and two 1st places so far. I really like my new bike! http://pedalsbikecare.co.uk/race-testing-the-orbea-occam...

Re: 2017 plans
Scott, not sure exactly - first weekend of July has been the trend for the last two years. If that is the case that will tie in nicely with my holidays as I am working in a school just now. (hoping to start teacher training next September) So I will go for: Either a Cairngorm Loop or Deeside Trail ...
