Carbon vs alloy wheels. Worth it?

So my fatty has carbon/tubeless wheels and I wouldn't have it any other way. But I've been looking at 29er and 650b+ carbon wheels and I can not see the justification. The weight gains compared to something like the hunt wheels is rarely better than 250g total for both wheels making the £/g cost ver...

Re: Pedal dilemma

My pedal CV fits scotroutes right down to the fat bike.

Get good flat pedals, hope for me. Shoes, I use 510s, not the big sponges, endura mt500 over shoes are excellent in winter once you've managed to get them on.

Re: gypsies.com - the demise & alternatives

Personally i've only really used gypsies as an archive and easy format converter and that is what I'm still after.

Also never used strava for route creation.

For UK route creation I've always used walkthelakes.co.uk. Full UK 1:25000

gypsies.com - the demise & alternatives

so gypsies.com has sadly been sold to all trails.com I know it's different, but first impressions are not good. How are others finding it & do people have alternatives. Only a handful of my tracks have been migrated so far but perhaps I will be able to continue to use it as a GPX state & create rout...

Re: Prescription Glasses

I have been thinking of getting prescription glasses for a while but a few things have put me off. 1. the sweating and fugging up that 2.I'd need another set of glasses when I get to work.3. The cost I am a sweaty guy. On the #jennride I had to take my sunnies off to reduce the sweating. On contacts...

Try ear plugs. Worked for me.

Rub with patch glue, leave for a few minutes. Roll up, stuff in hole. Trim as needed.

Re: reccomendations. Shorts that look normal

thinking about it...based on Ton's response. I have used the Decathlon lightweight summer shorts over my lycra in the past.

They are light & dry super quick - perhaps that is all I need.

reccomendations. Shorts that look normal

I see people riding in cycle shorts that actually look almost normal.

I definitely do not want some rad DH baggies.

Any recommendations please ?

Re: Is a Signal Ti preposterous for long trips?

Apologies if this counts as a hijack. Any idea how the signal compares to the solarisMAX?

From my very limited skills they are almost identical weight. Both look very relaxed. I can see the signal will take a slightly longer fork, but the cotic has more options on wheel size.

New ribble ti hardtail

A teaser popped up on my time line but with no details.

Anyone got anything more useful?

64 head angle
150 travel.

Looks fab, but I can't work out how to show it here.

Cheers all.

Scott L. Are you somescott on Instagram.
If so. That was me asking and yes that looks very nice.

Love the Orbea photo shoot spot.

Got an email from orbea. The TR and am are the same frames.

I also have in the mix and rode a mates solaris max and that was vaguely exciting.

Re: Orbea occam any experiences

The rear suspension looks like it wouldn't impinge into the triangle too much, so as you say, they look like a frame bag could work well.

I've emailed them.
The TR in plus mode looks more me I think, but if the frame is the same an AM specced fork might be fun!

Orbea occam any experiences

Any experiences here?

Quite liking the look of them as an all day or multi day bike.

TR or Am,
Plus or 29er.

Also, do you know if there is any difference between the AM and TR frames or is it just the suspension.

Not sure about the lipping next to Mike! That aside I can remember a company withdrawing from sale their tunnel bivi because when the door was closed the co2 levels became too high. Can't remember who they were though. Seeing others wake up in what looks like a sauna I'd go for the ventilation optio...
