29+ bikes, who rides one?

because i have another itch. been down the 29+ road a couple of times, firstly with a jones plus, which i didnt get on with, then with a ecr, which was great, but i fancied a change. now i fancy a nice and light 29+. the trek stache carbon thing looks nice, just wondering what else is available that...

Re: Dales Divide 2020 .. who's going?

lol, i have neither the physique, the health or the inclination to measure myself against others.

and if i rode the whole route on the road, i can guarantee you that the fast offroad riders would beat me by a day or so.

Re: Dales Divide 2020 .. who's going?

been looking at this, and i really fancy a go. i know most of the route, and have probably ridden most of it over the years. but if i am honest with myself, i think if i stuck to the route i wouldnt manage it. but if i were to mix and match with bits of road here and there i could possibly manage it...

Re: Ergon GS3

I have use ergon grips for years. all the different ones. I don't think they add any sweep to a bar. I may be wrong I have got to the stage where I can no longer use them. I have to have them tilted really forward to keep the line from my wrist to forearm straight. this means when riding on rough te...

nice rigid ( carbon??) fork to replace a crap sus one.

got a rockshox judy air fork on my bike, and to be honest, it is a bit rubbish. very flexy, and even with a lot of air in, it don't suspend my mass very well. so what good rigid for to replace it with. was thinking possibly something in carbon, if there is a carbon fork designed to take 133kg. any i...

Re: jones bars not working...........again

I have the kyote bars on my tourer, which has a much longer steerer. and they seem to work fine.
they also have a bit of rise, might sell the jones and buy another pair of those.

so if anyone needs a pair of jones loops with xl esi grip, message me. :-bd

Re: jones bars not working...........again

if these bars were 31.8 and 700mm wide, they would be perfect, with the ends tilted down a bit.

Re: jones bars not working...........again

Stu, you could tape a straight edge to my forearm/wrist whilst i am holding my bars, and it wouldnt bother me, if you get what i mean. my hand will only bend forward and not back at all.

a ergon type grip tilted forward supports my palm/heel. but this can cause it to slip off riding offroad.

jones bars not working...........again

as some of you know, i hold the world record for buying and selling jones bars. not because i am a twit, but because i have fused wrists that wont bend backwards, and jones bars seem to work for a while, and then they start to hurt. so having not used any for a year or so, i decided to try again and...
