gps advice for a caveman.
i have come to the decision that i need a gps. looking for something more road based to be used for touring and road circuits on quieter roads. dont even know if this makes a difference or even where to start. something that can be run on normal betteries would be nice, as would a largish screen. an...

got a pair of 2.0 race king tyres on my fargo. must be the original tyres it came with. the rear is nearly smooth. they roll pretty good on road and are ok off road, but with guards the block up quickly. any ideas for a good rolling, but grippy offroad tyre to replace them with. similar size would b...

Re: stuck in a repetetive cycle.
A lot is justified through commuting to work, it saves me £8 a day so adds up quite quick! Plus the above
that sentence is my saving grace. 35 years of cycle commuting means that the funds for purchases are always easy to find....
not running a car is good too.

I love Colin...........every time I come up with a stupid idea, to buy a stupid unsuitable bike, he pops up with the sensible reason I should not make such purchases.

carbon bike for a hefty rider?
good idea or bad.
cant get the urge for a fat bike out of my head. the trek farley 9.6 has grabbed my attention.
some carbon bikes used to come with a upper weight limit, is this still the case?

only ever owned 2 bikes at once. 1 for touring/road and 1 for offroad riding.
tried to get away with one, but it is too much faff, swapping tyres, guards on and off. 2 is perfect.

true wet weather footwear.
on every forum, every winter, there is a few 'what winter footwear' thread. the list of winter boots is now pretty good. warm, yes. waterproof, debatable, both, never. i have owned a fair few different ones over the years. today, i rode 15 miles to work, in a deluge, wearing a pair of scuffs neopren...

Re: 2016 Highland Trail route.
I sat and traced the route out on maps last night. this is one hell of a route. I did not realise how big until I spread the maps out as one on the floor. proper hats off to anyone who does this in under 7 days. just in the process of trying to coax 2 riding pals into having a go with me, but in 10 ...
