Re: HT550 2021

Hi Steve I got your tracker across the line yesterday at about mid day. Yay! Javi jumped out a Bush at the finish with a beer, its the quickest hangover I've ever achieved. I had an exciting ride, peppered with all sorts of mini epics. Met Mart on his superb bike nr Drumbeg and Andrea in Glen Golly....

I think one of the most inspiring rides was Adrian Baskerville when he completed in 2019 - just a caffeine powered amphibian. Nails.

Re: HT550 2021

Im in it as a relatively unfit sort. I told Alan Id be happy at the back of the staggered start and his response was "Johnny, no offence but I hadn't you in mind for pole position!" The truth always hurts... At the moment i have a good weather pile of kit and a bad weather pile of kit, but...

Re: Top loop of the HT550 vs Cairngorms Loop? Recommendations which please

If I'm going up before the end of the stag season on the 20th I think ill stick to the more popular options such as the outer loop with Glen Tilt. I might be overthinking this but I'd be a bit distracted expecting an awkwa...

Jocks road and open shelters

Theres a piece in the guardian today about Jocks road - https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2020/oct/06/walking-adventure-in-scottish-highlands-jocks-road-history-grampian-scenery It includes an interesting link to the refurb of Davie's Bourach. I stopped there once - briefly - but it looks a good sp...

Hello everyone, not sure if its been posted but I see Barry Godin has has posted a new film. Some cheeky chances undertaken with access - which at this point in our lives raises a whole bigger debate - but the films another fun blast through some great looking countryside.

Re: ... and so it continues.

This is definitely not a challenge to the sort of lightweight camping we enjoy when walking or biking. Its trying to deal with the car based camping and out of control scenes already described here.
