Re: Wildcat - the final sale

Just had my last purchase delivered from you. Needed a harness to complete my main setup, and so glad I could get hold of one of the double dry bags. Delivered just 4 days after ordering, still fantastic service till the end. All the best for your future plans. Your kit will be going for a long time...

Re: Liverpool & Leeds Canal and back via TransPennine Trail

I did the full width of the TPT the other way two summers ago. I admit it wasn’t in bivvy mode as I was in a group and we had hotel stops. But I whole heartily agree on how well it’s signposted - except for the Stockport side. I lost the route there a few times. Thank you for your write up and it do...

Re: Most durable quality sleep mat

Sorry for jumping in,

In terms of delaminating does anyone use a pump / pillow to inflate their mat to avoid this?

Ive seen mini battery ones / dry bags / pillows and wondered if anyone had any experience or could recommend some.

Re: Footwear option?

I bought two pairs when it was still at the funding stage. Basically: I don't wear them! Maybe it was the sizing was off, maybe I didn't like the way the gravel just kept falling off, they don't do well in damp conditions (wet socks) but I just didn't get on with them. Was a shame as I thought they ...

makes me sad i missed it again this year, first thing that surprised me was the amount of cars parked up, so many people at the start but you only see a handful when actually biking!

All the best for the move Ian, Beth and family.

You might find the conditions are different that far north, it's all good for product research.

Looking forward to hearing how this goes, I've got two large breeds that I would love to take out bikepacking with me but always thought it best to leave them at home.

Re: More meal options: Firepot

Just finished off a chilli and rice.

Cooked it in the bag, but left it a bit longer than the instructions said as there were still some bits not quite cooked/rehydrated.

Quite tasty really and the portion size was great. Should keep me warm through tonight.

More as a heads up, I was in my LBS and they had a notice up about a recall on farleys, 2014 and 2015 models. Something about a fault where the steering tube becomes detached from the frame.... Might be worth ensuring your not affected. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/trek-farley-6-fat-bik...

Selling due to an upgrade and im not looking into the downhill rides as much these days. Ideally im asking for £600-£700 but make me an offer. Been a great downhill machine, and with a slack head angle rolls over most things. Upgraded pedals/forks/brakes and tyres from standard spec. Ive owned this ...

So after a rather disastrous ride today against 20-30mph head winds around Ladybower and Derwent, My goals have become clearer... Current Weight: 96 kgs and a bit of a belly! Goal: sub 89 kgs and less belly to fit my bearbones top! Also I really need to work on my stamina after too much hike-a-bike ...

Good review.

I've got the cooker 4 and even on that tier i agree that some components could be slightly better,
it does allow the bike to be upgraded easily and to the preferred spec of the rider!

Not so successful, My rear derailler had lost a spring somewhere, meaning it had no tension, swung into the rear tyre bending a spoke. This lead to a catastrophic failure of the hanger bending it out 90 degrees to the wheel! Only solution was to break the chain and walk back to the car park! Im allo...

I envy Guy's enthusiasm and ability to be able to tackle any challenge he sets himself, however I have a feeling he really doesn't like being on camera even if it's a means to an end. So when he is attempting a challenge especially in the UK he knows there will be a lot of support out on the route. ...
