Re: From Sea to Mountain - Locations?

Bilbao is surprisingly mountainous - I was riding up to a 999m summit just out of town before I succumbed to a hangover and a terrible thirst. Could probably have been back on the beach within an hour and a half or so had I been so inclined. The Basque coast to the west of there has some proper big ...

Yeah, ridden mine a lot - it's on about 14000km. The Evo version got rid of the early manufacturing issues that pistonbroke mentioned and mine's been good as gold. It's taken an absolute hammering tbf,

A few other people on here have one too

It's definitely not long and low.

Re: Jennride. Which tyres?

I had a chat with the bloke in Ghyllside Cycles in Ambleside a couple of years ago, he said every Jenn Ride that passes through there'll be at least half a dozen people coming in who've ripped a sidewall after turning up on a lightweight tyre. (I was in there buying a tyre after ripping a sidewall c...

Re: Destroying parts!

I destroy bits of the full sus on a fairly regular basis, esp the drivetrain. Being a heavy lump with poor technique really isn't good for bikes if you're riding them hard, nor is the gritty mud of the Dark Peak/West Pennines. My other bikes tend to be OK though - it's rare that I'll break anything ...

Re: Dales Divide. anyone having a go ?

Is that your first big multi-day on your new bike? New saddle/set-up probs? Nordy was convinced you’d hit the boozer to make up for all the lost pub-time in lockdown! There might be a bit of that in it Jase but I think it was more just down to bad arse maintenance tbh. I was ill on the first night ...

Re: Dales Divide. anyone having a go ?

A lot of folk on drops and 40mm tyres, I noticed that. Stuart Rider posted a short video clip of riders coming through (somewhere) and at first it appeared that there weren't any mountain bikes present. Yeah gravel bikes must have outnumbered mtbs by 2 or 3 to 1, by far the most I've seen at a bikp...

Re: Dales Divide. anyone having a go ?

Yeah I binned it off at Scarborough yesterday. Had an angry welt of skin on the gooch that wasn't getting any better and wasn't too chuffed at the thought of riding on it in damp shorts for annother 36 hours. Clocked the forecast for today (wind, rain, misery) so I'd already been wavering. When I ro...

Depends how much water you usually need to drink tbf Shaf, and how hot it is, and what else you're using to carry water.

Hope that helps

As above I think two bottles plus *something* will be my strategy.
