Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

I am cheery that I've finished levelling part of the garage floor with a layer of screed and can have my coffee. First time I've done it and it was moderately stressful. I should really stop pretending I'm qualified to do all these things  Not sure if the results will be cheery. Certainly look...

I've run a 29x3 Dirt Wizard in a Fox Float 32 and it was fine for width but VERY tight on diameter. No good in mud and zero chance of a mudguard.

Re: 29+ suspension forks with clearance for 3.0” tyres

The 2019 Rockshox Pike was sold in a 29+ flavour, I've got one. Specced for max width 82mm, max diameter 786mm. Newer models are listed as 81mm/770mm max so worth checking your mounted tyre size. https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/service-manuals/rockshox/front-suspension/2022-fron...

Re: Rushup (Dark Peak) needs you!

No doubt locals have seen this but Derbyshire County Council are still making an absolute arse of natural trails in the Peak District. Unbelievable what they've done on Pin Dale, and the idea that they were going to do the same to Cave Dale is just unfathomable stuidity. Pictures in the link below t...

Re: Post workout sensation

I always have a sick basin next to the turbo when I do Zwift races. The sprint for the line at the end has made me puke a couple of times. Puked occasionally in training when I used to do Muay Thai. And once during a five-a-side match in an indoor sports hall #-O If you're really going balls-out the...

Re: Favourite bar system, and dropper seat bag?

Ended up using a Miss Grape bar bag (think it's this one ) after trying a similar list to yours. I just like the way the straps and spacers work and it's as stable as anything I've used. Properly waterproof too. It's fairly heavy so for summer when I'm using less kit I tend not to bother with anythi...

Not bike parts, but I bought daughter #1 some boots for Christmas from Italy - £145 and no extra charges. Could the fact it was delivered by DHL international explain it? Similar here - bought a microphone from thomann.de for £148. UK VAT was included at point of sale and no bother with delivery. F...

Re: Jones type bars and geometry set up

On the full suss I've never got around to swapping so hence the geometry question. I much prefer a straighter bar on a fs - I find Jones bars make it harder to rotate my wrists quickly enough for shifting weight forwards and backwards, if that makes sense. eg switching the bike's angle for landing ...

A big overseas ride solo, maybe one of the Spanish routes - Altravesur's been waving at me for a few years. A big overseas ride with other people would be nice too. Veneto Trail might happen at last... All the domestic stuff usually just seems to fall into place - Jenn Ride/YD200 or 300/BB200 or 30...

I've never had a puncture in one after well over 10,000km on them Tony so I wouldn't lose too much sleep if you can't. I did have one randomly explode in the back of the car while driving along the M62 past Halifax. Genuinely thought I'd been shot. Be interested to hear how you get on.

Does look a good event this.

Agreed that £95 sounds slightly steep though. Tbf it's a fairly small entry iirc and they seem to put a bit of graft into the organising.
