2 metres of permavent from BB HQ and a Alpkit Tivaro 13l dry bag.
Is it wrong that I'm quite excited to get home and see how my packing works out?

Re: Specialized Sequoia
I've got an Elite, 2x gearing etc. Stock tyres measure over 45mm on the standard rims and have shocked me with how much grip seems to be available. Keen to try a 650b setup, given the size of the stock wheel setup, it should swallow a 2.1 without much difficulty. Just the 12mm axle front hub makes i...

Haha. I've got something similar, there's one square I can see in the not to distant future that will stop me from getting a nice big number and it's out in the Severn estuary. I really don't fancy finding out how soft the mud is out there.

Thanks for this Greg.
I've only just seen this as a bit of a part timer on here. Its been an eye opening read. Makes you think what goes on behind the scenes.

Anyone got any yet? I like the idea of the built in mount if it means less faffing.
Really tempted to get the 13ltr drybag.

I don't know where you are or I would offer assistance.
Don't discount the idea though, I'm sure there's plenty of help available around these parts and lots of tutorials on the Internet.

Re: Is it an adventure bike....?
Last time I looked, vagabond was available as a frameset. Also what about the tiagra hydro setup? Essentially the same as 105 but 10gears rather than 11. Might help keep the cost down.

Took delivery of my larger size Mk3 Stooge on Thursday, swapped the bits over from my Genesis High Latitude yesterday. Test ride tomorrow. Anyone else on here got one? https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/20258375_10154600164837051_4775444606743491474_n.jpg?oh=566630a5e867d05d397d12af31d520...

Re: Do we need another gilet order?
I'd be keen for a gilet, would want to see some idea of sizing first. Too long in this industry tells me that one brands small is another brands XL. Do people really think I'd expect anyone to order an item of clothing without first doing my upmost to convey the sizing informatation? I thought my p...

That pretty much explains it, but I still had to look at the explorer map to see what you meant. Slightly different slant on the max squares I guess.

As above, sounds like a chainline issue. I presume its a 135mm back end bike or is it a 130mm rear axle with a MTB spaced crank?

Just added the Veloviewer extension for chrome, works brilliant for plotting new routes to tick off a few of the more troublesome squares.

16x16 down to 9x9 . thats going to make for a few detours to regain some of those. Slightly frustrating but means I have to work a bit harder at it. Should be able to pick one square back up with an extra loop on the commute tomorrow morning which will make a useful increase.

Re: I just can't do it ...
I think more and more road riders are realising that your 'traditional 23/5mm tyred road bike' isn't really the bike they want to be riding for several hours on a sunday. The gravel/road plus/whatever type bike is actually a far better, more comfortable bike for the kind of riding they do. I like th...

I've got a pair of Easton EA70 AX on order. 16deg flare. Not cheap, but slightly cheaper than the Salsa. Alternatively, what about a pair of bars from a GT Grade? There was some on eBay recently, some people don't seem to like the flare.

Re: Best SPD bikepacking shoes
I picked up a pair of Giro Terraduros this year. Simply the best shoe I have worn in my 25 years of riding in SPDs. Great off of the bike as well. A number of HT550 riders had problems with this shoe - basically fell to pieces mid ride. Depends on your severity of bikepacking I think! Another vote ...

Not seen any issues here, but having dealt with Brooks, they've always been very good with issues.
