Re: FS Salsa El Mariachi Singlespeed XL 29er

Hi Tommid The fork is a Salsa Cromoto tapered 15mm. Brakes are Shimano Deore Saddle is a WTB (I think a Silverado?) Bars are salsa salt flat 700mm The Wheels are salsa branded but I think Novatec hubs on ZTR Rapid rims which are like an OEM version of Arch rims, 15mm front QR back. Hope that helps A...

Re: Top Tube Bags - Low Stack Height

I have a medium Alpkit - the bottom strap goes round the headtube, I found it a bit floppy so I tied a rubber band through the top webbing and under the stem.

Re: SRT Operational Member Training.

That is a fascinating report - well done. I have asked about joining http://wilsar.org.uk/ but when I had the time to do it I didn't have the spare money which is a shame. I am also local to https://www.serveon.org.uk/ which is advertised in the changing room at work, will try to find out what they ...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Thanks for the Exposure tip I got a very nice Toro.

If like me you like the look of a hooded baselayer/ninja costume e.g. the £90 montane allez then lidl have them in today at £4. Lidl don't go smaller than men's medium by the way.

Re: Alpkit stem cells

Thanks for the comments - I prefer the clean look of the Apidura to the Revelate. I will put it on my xmas list and if I have no luck will try with a plain chalk bag and see how I get on.

Alpkit stem cells

Earlier this year Alpkit announced that the stem cell range would be extended to 4 designs - 3 have been launched but the one I was interested in was the "handy" or 1 handed feed bag. https://www.alpkit.com/develop/new-stem-cells-are-born I have asked them about it and they say it has gone...

I haven't got much money and time away is difficult...so probably Ridgeway double - should have managed it this year but never committed. SDW - having survived the BB200 I will probably attempt the double. An ITT with some different terrain, maybe Braunton or the Cambrian trail. I was disappointed t...

You could get around the pocket problem by wearing Specialized swat bib shorts...I don't think I would want to wear that Rab as a base layer though.

Re: Jones bars, comfort and numbness

I may also try the Grail gloves. I did look at them a month or two ago but thought they looked more like a summer glove. How warm are they? And how padded do they feel? They do have that problem, they feel like they are made out of ladies underwear! I should like a more rugged build especially if I...

Re: Jones bars, comfort and numbness

Have you considered trying the Specialized Grail glove? https://www.evanscycles.com/specialized-body-geometry-grail-fullfinger-glove-EV221229 I rode the whole distance in them and had no hand soreness. I had never heard of them until I had numbness on a long (for me) 4 hour ride a couple of months a...

I thought that everything was turned off that could be but I just found the hidden menu in the courses folder and put 'turn guidance' off, that seems to have fixed both problems.

Why does my Edge 810 do this?

This is what my Garmin showed about 1km into the BB200... IMG_20161010_141225459_HDR.jpg Riding from screen right to left, we have a purple line with black border, an unbanded purple line, and a white arrow telling me to make a u-turn. The spurious white direction arrows were rare after this, but th...

I am riding through, or will be rather uncomfortable. I think I am all packed...food does not currently all fit in but I think I can wedge some stuff when it's on the bike. Re: Heart rate monitor watch with no chest strap and beeps?

are you running the latest firmware? my 235 has got a lot more stable recently with a lot less HR spikes. its running 5.4 Yes, since it updates itself, but as Garmin make no effort to communicate the changes I didn't know any significant fix had been made so thanks for that! I still do love the wat...

Re: Heart rate monitor watch with no chest strap and beeps?

I also MAF train, have a forerunner 235 but despite the positive dc rainmaker review the optical HR is hopeless for running or turbo training as it constantly locks onto cadence instead (despite it knowing cadence independently). Off road the HR number is just random data. If you must do without a c...

You can get the beetroot as a concentrated shot, its a bit like trying to drink ketchup. I have tried it before a race, does have an effect as in weird feeling but I haven't done a performance test with it.
