Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

Take it use a Exposure Revo light with it? Picked up a Supernova E3 Triple as it was half the price of a Revo & I'm a cheapskate  Got it's first proper use this weekend & I was very pleased with how it performed. It even managed to give out some light whilst being dragged slowly acros...

Yeah, thanks to all involved, especially Stu & Dee for all their hard work, and all the friendly folk I met in the Star Inn & on the route.

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

I bought one of these https://www.alpkit.com/products/love-mud-juice for my Ramin & built a 29er front wheel on it. Not been using it long, but it seems well built. I'll be using on the BB200 this weekend so will let you know how it fares.

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

How are they compared to the Jones? (I know I know, some like blondes others brunettes but give it a try) Never ridden Jones bars but I really like these. I think they have less sweep and the loop isn't as big as on the Jones . They can be picked up for less than £20 online though so worth a punt. ...

LSJ wrote:Bard. Have you got stock stem with the Jones?
I had to change the stem from a 60mm to a 120mm I think. Grips are in roughly the same position as they were with the stock bars & stem.

They are Ergotec Space bars though, so probably have slightly different sweep to Jones bars.

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

Hi Lars

I'm 6ft & my Ramin is a large. It's spot on for me. Plenty of room for a seatpack too.

Seatpost clamp aside, I can't fault it.

Cheers

Re: Charities & Worthy Causes

Not sure where you're based but I've raised money for Sheffield Hospitals in the past & always had positive feedback from them & updates on projects the funds have gone towards. I'm sure there are similar charities all over the country. http://www.sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk/ Otherwise,...

Re: Anyone ride a Genesis longitude 2016

I think it's because it's shipped with a 27.2mm seatpost & a shim to make it fit the frame which is 31.8mm.

Not sure quite why they've done that so I'll probably swap the seatpost for a wider one & see if that remedies the problem.

Re: Anyone ride a Genesis longitude 2016

Was similarly toying with the idea of a Longitude but ended up buying a Ramin 3+ on Friday. EBB & the price were the clinchers. Took it round Wharncliffe yesterday in the mud & absolutely love it. Handlebars are a touch wide & as Stu says the grips are horrid. Also the seatpost seems to ...

Re: Ian's C2C route now unofficially official.

It's doable, but some parts use trail centre trails, from memory, Penmachno, Nant Y Arian, Afan... They are one-way singletrack sections. You may find you end up riding up the fun stuff and down roads a lot more if you go northbound. For recorded completions, only north to south efforts will be rec...

Re: Ian's C2C route now unofficially official.

Thinking about doing this next month, but logistically it would be easier for me to go from South to North. Would the route be as good ridden back to front?

First BB200 & definitely won't be my last, especially after missing out on a black badge by 30 minutes. Thanks to Stu for a superb route, less cursing than expected & some great descents. Loved the river crossing :-bd Also a big thanks to all the great people I rode with (Rob, George, Rich, ...
