Re: George Ezra

Yeh I enjoyed it despite it not being done under ITT rules

It was quite a surprise to me to realise he's not black :???: Not sure if that makes me a bad person :???: Obviously I'd never seen him before! Had heard him on the radio and quite like his music in a chilling out way.

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

I can't fit me and a kip mat in either of my bivy bags. Even my hunka XL, but my decent mat is a exped ul wide and long (a bit like me) so I'd have just been soggy! Actually only bivied out once without a tarp iirc, and then I was without a bivy bag too, just a synthetic bag, but it was summer in Fr...

I'm incredibly fooked  Not had a good couple of weeks with physical issues and so the black dog has been circling, and I've been very up and down with eating though not binging. I'll weigh in Friday, but I'm not expecting any good news. If I can get my body back out of limp mode it'll help wit...

Re: Don't have an Avon rep?

I've not found that smidge deals with horse flies at all! I've not found anything that does for me other than heavy duty clothing or waterproofs, which kind of clashes with horse fly weather  Midgies, horse flies and mosquitos love me. I think they get a global alert when I'm out in the right c...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Lunch in the woods checking out the underquilt with both my hammocks. Seems good. Needs a little extension of the suspension cords for my big (preferred) hammock. It is bulkier than I'd like (isn't everything?) but if it means I can continue to get out for camps I'll have etc accommodate it. https:/...

Re: Fat Fighters '23

I'm not expecting great news after buggering my ankle again last Saturday, so I've mainly been sat feet up keeping my doiting Mam company. We'll see...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

After much debate I ended up going for this one, a less than stealthy colour but a big discount at only £38. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09F986N93/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_dp_1 There's not a lot of difference in the weight/bulk stakes between ones I was looking at as they're all synthetic which...

Re: Anyone fancy it?

I've not cycled there, but I have backpacked on Tasiilak Island for two weeks on the East Coast of Greenland in late June and did see the ice cap. I avoided any piteraq winds which can be deadly, but not the bloody mosquitoes which weren't deadly, but very hungry. It was really warm when I was there...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Cool, another hammock camp. I'm thinking to buy a proper under quilt for February, my normal down quilt as an under quilt just didn't work.

What DD hammock have you got? Mine DD hammock was too short for me, so I got a onewind 12' one which was ace, but maybe a bit too long

Re: Fat Fighters '23

Yeh OSA apparently can mess with various hormones including insulin and cortisol which can make it easier to put on weight and make losing weight harder. I think I remember that you're also more likely to be drawn to foods with fat and sugar in them. Also psychologically if you're tired and depresse...

Re: Fat Fighters '23

There's no doubt losing excess weight is good for us, but on the apnea side it would appear that there isn't a very strong link with OSA. A London ENT consultant I was following on YouTube due to my snore/sinus etc issues has a video where he goes through the stats of (I think 2000+) of his own pati...

Cheers Gairym :-bd Ankle's still not great and back a bit twingy, but I'm managing to do small amounts regularly and control the food.

Hope you enjoy the escape from the ice and get over your ankle op quicky when you have it.
