Re: Klickfix handlebar harness

I've taken the same route for my road bike (have a wildcat lion harness for my MTB) and attached a DrJon strapdeck, so that the dry bag can be attached via voile straps. Haven't had chance to try it yet, due to Covid/work restrictions. I'll post some pics, when I can. (Yes, I did consider GFunk brac...

Re: Downloading gpx files to Garmin etrex 22x

Do you have a pc/laptop,? If so, consider installing Garmin Basecamp. You can import the GPX file into that, organise routes into list etc then, with the Etrex plugged into a USB port, simply drag/drop the route(s) of your choice onto the Etrex I have an Etrex 35, and have been using this setup, for...

Re: Old legs need Lower gears.

Ok, there was a lull in the rain, and I've popped down the shed.

R8000 GS rear mech - states 34T on the box
Fitted to my bike with an 11-40 cassette and a 50-34 chainset - NO Goat link.
B-screw dialled in pretty much all the way

Been working fine for a couple of years

YMMV

Re: Old legs need Lower gears.

Whilst waiting for the rain to stop, I checked the spec of the derailleur - it has a capacity of 39T, and you need 16 + 29, so it would appear that a goat link is required.

I must have a slightly different setup

It's already normal.
For us, maybe, but not for the general population

Re: soon to become mainstream.

It seems to skirt around the subject of whether to use campsites or to wild camp.
Just mentions spending a night outdoors.

Darn it - the presence of this topic, on the front page, led me to believe that things HAD moved on.

May just have to go and do it, anyway.

Did you not consider the GFunk option?
Did briefly but that wouldn't work on the road bars

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Went on road ride with friends, today. This took us out if my cluster, and over into an area that I'd planned to start bagging, soon. 9 new tiles bagged, and a couple of near misses. Main thing is, it was was a nice ride (despite the chilly headwind) and the BLT, at the cafe, was excellent. I do, ho...

Not sure, John, I just know there's a lot of open land that way (and that the research place is over there) but can't be more specific, I'm afraid.

Hadleigh is a better bet - rode over that way once, when visiting relatives

Thank goodness for Tunnock's, they're still the same price.
If they're the same price, they're probably just a wee bit smaller (as has happened with Wagon Wheels & Curly Wurlies)
