Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
'Twas definitely a Cheery Friday last night - I was "out out" in Abergavenny doing some, erm, fieldwork based research for SWWB :-bd :-bd testing the pub hopefully! Erm, it might have been a bit more than just the one pub... Thorough testing then ... lovin' the dedication!

Re: Winter Bivvy '24
I'm hoping to do my first Winter Bivvy.... sounds like type two fun, but I'm prepared to be proved wrong. I have been informed the scheduled weekend is a possible weekend of moving child #2 in Chester and my driving duties might therefore be required, but nothing's certain yet. Fingers crossed for t...

Mine's arrived ... never seen a battery with a built in USB-C port ... whatever next ! Old post, but what's this about a USB-C battery? Edit - On the subject of air pumps, do these things actually work? https://www.flextail.com/products/tiny-bike-pump Everything in me says that they're too small / ...

We don't care about weight , never really understood the strap a bag culture Lots of people do care about weight though. It also really depends on the type of terrain you are riding My mate took panniers on a Cairngorms trip, they were an absolute nightmare - his panniers were too wide for some of ...

That would be a good excuse to go down to that part of the world. I've never made it to SSUK since I did the one up here in '19.... Time to start ruminating on travel options! '19 ... where was that? We (Godiva Trailriders) ran it in 2016, and '22 & '23 in Llandegla. Don't think I've been to on...

as a stout lover .... I had one of these https://harbwr.wales/product/la-nossa-signora/ last night Milk Chocolate Orange .... maybe not as good as it could have been. I like a good stout to be full flavoured and rich. This was not bad but had an almost "geuze" aftertaste, only a hint of so...

Can I put myself down as a tentative (weather dependent softie) 'yes'?
I'm only in Ludlow so a quick train to South Wales is easy.
I have reasonable kit, flannelette pyjamas, night cap, bed pan etc
I do mostly run on beer ... so might need a pub visit.

Have we done this Ganesha stove? https://www.ganeshacookstoveproject.com/ I can’t see anything that hasn’t been done before here yet good marketing has got them a sh11t tonne of backing. Maybe should turn our influencer hats on and get Stu funded for a new stove? "700ml enough for several cups...

Not at this precise moment ( before luncheon? Even Reg has some decorum ), but ready on standby for emergency use. The Vanilla Stout Quest continues. Unfortunately had to have these posted, rather than bought locally, and that meant most unfortunately I had to buy twelve. https://live.static...

Sorry to hear that story Catrike! Still in the States? How's that going? Improved? Everyone's journey is different. Mine's never been dramatic, been up to 17st 10 lb a few years ago, hit 50 and decided I wasn't going to be fat'n'50, did keto , got to 14st 2lb. From there I wafted back to 15st 10lb n...

Sorry to hear that Rich. Hope all gets sorted soon. After watching that podcast with Moodi I think I'm gonna reduce my meat intake to just 2 days a week. Really reckon it'll help alot. Cheers buddy. I always add a elastic band or bobble to reduce the chances of losing it off the bag, don't ask why I found this to be important ...which is how I came into possession of 'my' Lezyne Zecto! I found it on the side of the road flashing away!... and it's a £50 rear light ! I use a band but do sort of ...

100% the Geoffs.
I have 2x Jones bikes both came with loop bars. I have swapped the set on the bikepacking bike for the Geoffs as they are longer/wider in the rearward section and the gap in the loop is about 1 cm wider which works better with my Rockgeist bag.

I can't vouch for it but the flextail bug repeller looks interesting https://www.flextail.com/collections/mosquito-repellent? We had James, Elbow & Madness playing on separate nights in Ludlow Castle a couple of weeks ago. We're tight so we just went into town and sat in The Blue Boar beer garden and listened to the bands. Elbow ain't my bag. Madness have done way more 'HITS' than people think !! I wish I'd forked out ...
