South Lakes 100 - Bank Holiday Weekend

Hey all Is anyone at a loose end over the Bank Holiday weekend and fancies riding the South Lakes 100/Jenn Ride route? I was planning to ride the Dorset Gravel 100 but been busy the past month with house renovations and with the prospect of a few more weekends to come I'm keen to get out and enjoy a...

How about Alpamayo Designs?

Great guys, I met Paul on my travels and have had my hands on several of the prototypes and now production quality stuff.

You might even spot a few of my photos on their homepage ;-)

Re: Small Speaker

The BoomBotix speaker takes some beating: https://boombotix.com/, but it comes at a price.

I picked up a Outdoor Tech Buckshot last year which still has pretty good sound quality and is reasonbly priced.

Re: long term tour budget?

How long is a piece of string? Its the perennial question every person embarking on a tour obsesses over. First up the biggest consideration is what part of the world you want to travel in is going to have the biggest influence on budget. 1st world regions like Europe, North America, Oz, Nz are all ...

How did you get on Steve?

I've ridden various bits of the Peak 200 over the past year, thinking of having a stab it a bit later on in the year.

Gratton Dale was a horror show last time I rode it!

Peak District Overnighter: 02/04/2016

Hey all After a pretty disastrous bank holiday weekend due to car troubles, I'm keen to get out for an overnighter this coming weekend. Forecast for the Peak is looking pretty favourable, dare I say 'sunny' even. Plans are reasonably open at the moment, was thinking of riding the northern section of...

Re: Alpamayo Bikepacking Gear

It's great to see the Alpamayo stuff finally in the wild. I had the pleasure of meeting Paul (one half of Alpamayo) whilst in Huaraz as he was just working on the initial prototypes of stuff for his own trip south through the Americas, as he was bitten by the bikepacking bug. Over the past year and ...

Re: Carradice Bagman racks.. Anything similar?

Like Cass, I've used a Carradice for a looooong time both for on road and off road after probably more than 15,000kms riding with one I think I've got a fair guage on them now. The bagman is a great idea, unfortunately I'd say for off road touring its not really suitable. Both Cass and I have had pr...

We never did sort that ride out over the summer

Re: Bang for buck... What's the best bikepacking route?

All the suggestions so far are really good, but I guess it really depends on your timescales, is it a quick weekend dash, or something over 3-4 days. There are some great suggestions here, and plenty I've not ridden. I still think the Capital Trail takes some beating, in terms of being able to cram ...

This sounds bloomin brilliant Stu.

£20 seems pretty reasonable, like others have said BEER, we need BEER a hip flask can only last so long.
