Re: Is this 'bikepacking'?

We're not destroying, maaan... we're creating...uncool and unmonetisable names for "having a kip outdoors between bike rides" (that will instantly become cool because of their nebulousity :geek: ). But I like JamesO's "camping sportives": it's rooted in chummy reality, rather tha...

Re: Travelling across Europe quickly - how?

Prefer smallish cars... The ferry from Italy is another good one - it would make yhe journey far more interesting. Caterham 7 Nothing smaller or greener (if you buy a green one  ). Makes every drive an adventure, particularly via mountain passes. The essence of TLS motoring: put the hood up a...

In real world, how many kilometres or miles per hours would this be? Without this information I can't warrant a reliable answer for realworld experience

Re: packable fleece?

I had a minor revelation last November when cycling in The Lakes: my techno-baselayer top became damp and clammy, so I removed it and spent the rest of the weekend wearing the fleece direct to skin and was warm & comfortable all weekend :-bd. Back home (after a bit of rummaging in the cupboards)...

13/14 April: Berwyns from Chirk/Gobowen Railway Station

Evening All, I'm a bit more prepared for April BaM than I was for March. My general plan is to arrive at Chirk or Gobowen Station about 10:45 Saturday morning then pedal westwards, past the Wayfarer memorial, to Corwen or Cynwyd for dinner & bivi (both villages have a pub and a shop). Sunday: so...
