Trans-Cambrian: it's not like it sez on the internet
https://bikepacking.com/routes/trans-cambrian-way/ Nope, there's far more rain. Day 0.5 Train to Knighton, arriving at lunchtime. Café stop to fill the tea flask, then up into the sunny, rolling hills. Not especially steep, but a fair slog over the grassy farmland. Anyone fancy a Range Rover ...

Re: Head Torch on Helmet - any Experience please?
This one from Decathlon is pretty good.

Small but powerful enough. At £17 you could buy two: remove the elastic then cable-tie one to your helmet, then keep the second for other stuff. .

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
I continued to the end of the bridleway which finished at a hedge. Just as I was about to take a photo, a tractor noise got louder in the next field and he approached a gate nearby. Arg! We beat a hasty retreat down the field edge, nipped into the barn and hid in a corner. Fingers crossed. Waited f...

Re: Midge eviction protocol
On the past two bivis when I've changed my headtorch from white light to red "stealth" mode when setting-up, I've noticed less midge hassle than usual.
Anyone else tried or noticed this?

The only disappointment on this trip was the train on Thursday was supposed to be one of the Inter7City HST's brought up from the Western Region a couple of years ago, which her grandad helped develop and was responsible for maintaining for many years. Don't worry: they've found new leases of life ...
