How did you avoid dampness from condensation inside the bivi bag? I have yet to find a 'breathable' fabric that does not 'wet-out' in heavy rain, after which their is no vapour transfer. £64 for a pair of socks, I don't think I will be able to get away with that and live to tell the tale! Some things are best left unsaid...
