With a new rice cooker. The previous model is being retired after just 30 years. It still works, but some idiot put the bowl in the dishwasher and removed the surface coating!

If she can go up by another £65, then this is not too bad.

Madison 3/4 length waterproof trews. Not sure about the fit. Waist is fine, but could be higher. Length is fine. Thighs are on the svelte side. That's all in a Medium. I suspect the thighs on the Large would be better but then the fit might be baggy on the waist. Need to have a think... Not sure ab...

Top work Matt. What bike were you on? - not the singlespeed I assume... Cheers Matt. I was on my trusty Pivot LES 29er. Gearing I think is 32 front, 11-40 rear. I was wishing for a smaller gear quite a bit! I keep thinking it is time for a new MTB as its pretty old now, but keeps munch...

Re: Nighttime riding, fear and loathing.
I used to work near Epping Forest and regularly rode there after work in the dark, mainly on my own. My work colleagues all thought I as mad. On my very first night ride, my new Lumicycle Halide light failed and I got lost and had to find my way back with a tiny headtorch, but that didn't put me off...

Re: Buying new forks, what do I need to know?
I bought a carbon one for my Broken Road off ebay. It cost about £95 and came with the axle. Fitting is pretty easy, the hardest part was getting the disc brake caliper aligned correctly. There's no need to change the headset.

Hydration bladder recommendation please!
I'm not drinking enough on longer rides just using water bottles, so I am going to resurrect my old Camelbak MULE, but need a new 3l bladder.
Can anyone recommend something cheaper than Camelbak's offering? But still good.
Thanks

Good point John. I checked mine and it was public, so have now changed to private. Dropped magazine
This arrived a couple of days ago. Issue one via Kickstarter that Richpips alerted me to. I was a little disappointed at first as it's printed in the smaller magazine format, but that aside, I found it very well put together with some interesting features and interviews. I will definitely buy again ...

I struggled for hours to fit WTB Rangers and then shortly after changed to Schwalbe G-One Allround which was a doddle in comparison.

Re: Tubeless - An idiots guide
This is what I did and it has worked fine: Remove existing rim tape, rub down inside of rim with wire wool and then degrease. Apply electrical tape over spoke holes pulling tape tight as you go and overlap by about 150mm. Cut a screw type Presta valve from an old tube removing as much of the rubber ...

Re: Great Divide Mountain Bike Route - Surly ECR info required
Are you sure you want the ECR? I had a rohloff ECR, it was a great bike in the right place and I enjoyed it, but ultimately it’s quite limited. The low bottom bracket means that your stuck with 3” tyres, I found them slow on tarmac, painfully slow. Which tyres were you running? i've Maxxis chronicl...

Re: King Alfreds Way.
What is the logic for doing it clockwise?
Having ridden the Ridgeway & SDW elements both ways, these are sections that to me are much better in an anti-clockwise direction.
