Re: MASSI (Spanish) carbon forks: anyone any exp or info

I've rented a lot of carbon massi bikes in mallorca over the years which have always been decent, and I think they sponsor a few really good XC riders (inc. the woman who has won the two races this season I think?). I'd be perfectly happy with them for a good value brand :-bd

It was a great trip - made all the smoother and better thanks to Duncan's organisation and Ernesto's route.

thanks!

Re: WTD pair of 29 Tyre 2.3-2.5

i've got a pair of vittoria gomas, 2.3, tubeless that I didn't get on with and have done around 20 miles, and a pair of hans dampfs (one pace star, one trail star) that have done more.

I just want them out of the garage! £10 + postage for either pair? Or happy for you to collect!

Re: Podsacs 'anything' cages? anyone tried them?

just an update on these. They survived 700km of montanas vacias last week with no problems, and the bags were waterproof and surprisingly useful (unlike some things, as I'm sure will be revealed if/when duncan does a write up  ). They're also reduced to £21 at the moment at PX.

Re: Lakeland 200 - luggage options

If I remember it right there is one big carry and one long push. I did it with a bar bag, a v small frame pack and an osprey escapist pack, so I could use a dropper. Worked pretty well, and in fact I used the same setup for the HT550. But I'm not as averse to a back pack as many,(I actually prefer i...

Re: Podsacs 'anything' cages? anyone tried them?

The diameter of the dry bags is about 12cm. My mug is 10.5 cm diameter and fits very easily, with room to slide some extra stuff down the sides.

Re: Podsacs 'anything' cages? anyone tried them?

£25 each side, yes - still works out a lot cheaper than other options that I could find. The cages look very similar to the Topeak ones.

Re: Podsacs 'anything' cages? anyone tried them?

I got a set last week too - did 280km with them this weekend on gravel tracks, roads and about 30km of single track & bridleway. They seem fine although I guess that is not too much of a test. Dry bags are very robust but are quite small - not sure if I can get my Alpkit mug in, I'll check!

Re: So I spoke with Marc (TrekkerTent) re. Stealth

I've got a stealth one - I've used it with some alloy poles cut to length but now have some carbon ones from Stu that my wife bought me. I'm 5'10" and it is cosy but big enough - getting in is not ideal but not that hard! Side opening sounds good though...

just to confirm - I'm up for the refugio and deposit - I did post something up above but it may have been ambiguous! I've not been on here much recently but looking forward to this one. 1)The aim is to ride the full 700km in the direction (anticlockwise)that Ernesto has indicated. - yep, sounds good...

oh god. This is like some kind of weird confessional thread for addicts. Bird AM9 - big bike for bike parks with my son and mtn biking with people who like the steep stuff. It's an incredible bike that deserves to be ridden more. The only frame I've bought new for years. Whyte T129 - trail bike for ...

My 105 shifter and front mech work with an SLX mtb triple (26/38/no big ring) on my Arkose. It's not the very best front shifting, but it works fine.

Great read Sean - so glad your wife got the all clear, that is great news. Been there and done that as you know! Just thinking about Chicken Legs comment above about never racing the same route twice and wondering whether to take that advice (already do late as I've done 3 x Brauntons!) - there are ...
