This being one of the reasons I love fell running. The two competitors in the 70+ category. Chap on the right, Steve, is the younger one.

Re: DSLR bag for bike trips

I've used a Montane Bat Pack before works well. If carrying a heavy bag with a few lenses for work I use my F-stop bag. Usually riding to somewhere to take shots of people riding though, then pack and move on. If riding for pleasure, I have a bar mounted Porcelain Rocket bag I use - Mini Slinger. I q...

Ex-TTer - rode quite a few races fixed also. Nothing wrong with it, or where it is done, it's a facet of our wonderful sport. As per Dave B - it irritates me (mellow word to my actual feeling) when people have problems with it.

Re: Hilleberg Akto

I went for a Nordisk - I'd considered the Akto, but opted for the slightly lighter weight of the Telemark.

Pitches very fast, light, and I've been fine with it in some crappy conditions. But, it always feels like I have to be a bit more careful with it compared to my other tents.

Re: bikes with super short stems & a Jones bar

I've made no changes while using my older Jones bars over the past few years. With the "newer" wider ones I think I went for a 5mm extra stem. Can't recall. Aside: STW is somewhere I am happy I left a few years ago. Pre-hack days it was actually quite nice. It happens to forums. They change. As has ...

Re: Silk Road Mountain Race (SRMR)

Yep, Shona bopped her head and got a rather big lump taken out. "So it seems that most accidents do happen in the home - or this case the guest house. We got to the end of day 2 feeling good and just ahead of schedule. At a guest house in the middle of the night we found out that not everything agre...

OMM 2019 (not bikes)

Longshot.

My regular partner has bailed due to a wedding or some nonsense. So I'm on the scroung as my other partner is already taken :)

If anyone is MM/OMM curious, and wants to do the medium course, who has running experience - give me a shout.

New SS wheel from Shona and Rich.

Hope Pro4 trials/SS on my now traditional Velocity Blunt SS 30. Hopefully, it'll fare better than it's predecessor... whos rim I dinged on the first ride and rode for a further 3 years ;)

I'll sadly agree with others, add in gritty mud and it's probably a bit too close for comfort.

Flood sirens. All a bit 2015 floods again. Really hope not. Though we do live on top of a hill. But town does not need this again.
