Re: How much climbing on a bikepacking route is okay?

I don't really mind once the descents warrant the climbing. Hike a bike to a road descent is my special idea of hell.

EDIT: Which reminds me - hurry up and publish your Raetic Trail route so I can go ride it when this all clears up :)

Re: who rides Ti ?

I have the opposite problem with my ti salsa, the frame has a brushed/matt finish and the straps from my frame bag polish the ti. I've heard that non-stick scouring pads used lightly can be used to restore matt finish but I've not tried it. Odd, that's one of the things I really like about my Ti Fa...

Re: Framebag Zip Repair

I expect these guys can do it, mate. https://lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk. Not used them personally and don't know anyone who has had a frame bag repaired by them, but know they've done a good job of replacing zips on friends' waterproofs etc Aye thought about them Tom - could easily ride over wit...

Framebag Zip Repair

Is there a go to "fix this please" place that people have found for replacing framebag zips?

I've two Revelate bags that need zippers.

I've neither the time nor inclination to do this myself, nor learn to do it myself. This is one of those "pay a person to save me time" sort of things.

Tout Terrain Supernova "The Plug II" Dynamo USB Charger

Used for the TDR back in 2016 - has been sat in a drawer since.

Cut to fit a long rigid fork - was on my Cutty. Bare wire ends at the moment. Haven't used it or checked if it is working.

£30 to your door.

Re: Look like a booby trap?

GR is on top left of your screen capture. You were in a field. On non open access land. Farmer can do what they chose once they don't block the path. Unlikely a fell runner would be in there. It's not the best way onto or off that moor :) Though, I will say that we see that sort of think about in He...

Re: Any real world reviews of the O/R Helium Bivy ?

Used one for the TDR - it was fine.

It died a year after - they replaced it with the new version.

It to is fine.

Re: pennine bridleway, anyone ridden entire route?

Have rode it all. Did not take that long even at a casual pace. It's reasonably dull.

Try the Sarn Helen (look up Aidan Hardings route) if you want something entertaining.

BROS was the courier bike of choice round my way. Wanted one for years. But bought a TransAlp as a gateway drug to my Africa Twin.

Re: Current and ex Ducati owners....

Oddly my Monster is one of the few bikes I don’t miss. Noise of the clutch was plain irritating. Windy bike for long rides. Cornering was decent though. And it did look well. Still, basically a posh BROS.

Re: What do you think about when you are riding?

I honestly don't know. I switch off a lot on a bike - part of the charm of it.

I think a lot when I'm fell running, I tend to use that to mull things over and make decisions.

Bike, it's relaxing. All sort of just happens really.

Daniel Avery is most excellent.

Tycho is worth a listen if you want something of a slightly more mellow feel to him.

Aphex Twin sort of day today.
