Re: Highland Trail 2015

She's just jumped along the trail - I suspect she is on the track now. SPOT may be having reception issues in that valley.

Ok, update on the Snapfish.

Salsa US have sent me a frame - brand new - which I will be picking up later today from Shona and Rich at Keep Pedalling.

Now that's what I call service.

Re: Highland Trail 2015

Quick question for those who have been in to that area (I've been in from the Poolewe end to about 3Km past Carnmore), how quick do those rivers rise and fall? Canoeing friends talk about getting on to some rivers within hours of heavy rain to ensure that it's paddleable whereas others, particularl...

Re: Highland Trail 2015

She'll be reet. the other river ain't so bad IIRC.

She obviously is playing ball with the rules - that was a definite turn.

Impressed I am.

Re: Highland Trail 2015

OK Jenny is backtracking.

Now, a question that my wife raised last night...

"If she backtracks, takes the road, then backtracks the course to the river, THEN continues on the course, would you DQ her?"

I opted to say " Alans call. Personally, no. But it's a two day diversion"

Not a chance. Too many years of whitewater paddling to have a lack of respect for water. I've done my near drownings thanks.

Personally, if I found a spot - I'd strip down, cross, then redress. Not like anyone is going to see much up there anyway.

Re: Highland Trail 2015

Guidelines folks...to be strictly adhered to :) Either way, Jenny is in possibly the best spot possible. Dry, stormproof bothy - walk over to river "nope still up" walk back to bed. Repeat. But if the Alan says you gotta cross to get a time...you gotta cross. Simple as. I know I wasn't com...

Not raced. But was due to twice in the last two years...long boring story involving getting a job. Anyway... Are you planning to start with the pack, or as an ITT? Reason being - it'll get warmer as you go south...so you an post things back if they are too heavy. FWIW - my plan has always been a ver...

Bothy to dry out and wait for the river to not be in spate I suspect.

Re: Highland Trail 2015

The orange is dubbed - Safety Orange. If we mark them as a scratch they come off the map altogether. Due to the weather, and safety concerns, we figured an alternate colour would be apt so we could still track people in case something happened. Orange = out of race. Not that it's a race of course....
