Hopefully, I'm aiming for my ability to be that of eating a lot of crappy processed food and not getting intestinal issues.

It's only useful for gross changes TBH, also, playing with X-rays all the time = not cool for your future.

I also have an MRI and pQCT within poking distance.

I have been known to fall asleep mid conversation after a few days in a multi day race. Schoolhouse bothy in 2013 HTR being a prime example.

Re: Tour Divide 2016

Working on some stats while I whittle away my last day in the lab. Having access to a DXA scanner has its perks. Sadly, no superpowers as of yet. Lean mass changes over the past year - focused effort to get a correct balance of weight to muscle - I've an issue with either being too light and weak, o...

Ray - it's an 18 sorry!

FWIW - my 26er Inbred, currently in storage in Irl, is a bloody ace bike.

As said before - oversized bags so you can cram things in.

Nice and tight kit bags look great in the kitchen or garden - but are a bugger when you're out, wet, cold, and trying to cram an extra burrito in.

Richard G - after a day or two, when the headaches go away, I don't miss caffeine - if anything, I use it less when racing multi day things - occasional can of coke is about it. I find it makes me a bit too regular if I take on too much on multi day things. 24 hour races...all bets are off, I tend t...

Not timed it but I might also have an extra step or two in there for food/recovery drink. Not really ever been in "race mode", as above a lot has transferred over from alpine climbing bivies - the kit is a little different and you have more room but most of the principles are the same. Ag...

Good work Ian B! Sounds like a great way to finish. Have to admit to being inspired and impressed by guys like you and Alan that are out there every year. It says you truly enjoy it I think? .. as if it's as tough as I suspect then going back when you know what you're in for is admirable. (edit - b...
