My thumbs work in certain orientations.

Finally getting some time to sit down and read - brain has not wanted to interact with real world for a while - hence taking two weeks extra in the US to travel and get some hiking in. Also, i can't type good, quite a lot of hand issues going on. I'll write up a post about my race at some point this...

Can't agree with you more James. My phone, is going in a ziplocked bag and will get opened very, very infrequently. It's a non smart phone, I don't want to have the external crap that comes with the race. I want the immersion.

Also depends if solo or in a group. I'll straight away admit to being the person who won't ride with people who faff a lot - you know, the people who turn up with a half built bike that'll "only take a few mins while I install the new headset" before the ride we've arranged to go on a mont...

Depends on what you're after though. Or your aims for a set ride.

If you're out to have tea in the countryside - sure, I'd adopt that.
But if I'm out to get from A-B via a long way, I'm not going to waste time that I could spend riding, or eating on the road, or getting to a pub even further away.

Got confirmation on Zane - we're 99% certain Adam finished with a SPOT that wasn't working. All good.

Not at all John, this is the first step to going faster. Realising that you can be faster at mundane things.

Think of all the other places you can save time, be efficient and so on.

Heh, it came from a part of the HTR thread - Mr Turing would be proud I suspect.

Agree with Ian, something like the HTR is always going to do something to you deep down. It's how willing you are to accept that and then adopt that into your life that makes the biggest change. Something I've tried to do anyway.

If it's raining you're going to get wet anyway, so why fight it. The sooner you deal with it, move on, and get wet, the easier it is.
