Re: Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?

Ha, yeah, that would do it. Probably a little more expensive than rice though.

XC mostly. Not sure I'd enjoy a trailer bouncing around behind me on technical descents!

Re: Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?

I actually did something similar by doing an entire trail stood up, but I don't want to risk doing any further damage to my knee at the moment with the sort of pressure low cadence riding will put on it.

Re: Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?

Can't help thinking that would have a similar problem to the cast iron weights though. Lot of pressure in one place, quite likely to move around in the bag. Only so far I can crush the bags I have down to stop movement.

Re: Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?

That specific weight is intentional. When checking some of my WRT speeds (carrying that much weight) I noticed they weren't far off what I had done on similar sections with my slower friends. I figure that it might be around the right amount to bring me into line with them. Ideally I'd not add any m...

Re: Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?

I considered sand / rice but I'm not sure it would be great for the bags. Might be a bit too dense too.

Might not be a bad bet in another bag inside a small frame bag though.

Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?

Recently my training and fitness has stepped up a few levels, and, current knee injury aside, I've found myself getting a bit frustrated when out with friends who are quite a lot slower than me. I appreciate that a mental adjustment is partially required, though I also like to feel like I'm getting ...

Re: Issues transferring a big route onto a Dakota 20

Splitting sounds useful. A number of times I've wanted to change just a small section (and make use of follow roads functionality) but you can't really do that unless you're dealing with the end of a track you're working on.

Re: The post man's been ...

This might sound like a strange request... benp1, but could you pull the cable to max extension on your milkman and measure it? There's a whole pack of gummi bears in it for you! Mine maxes out at about 76cm and is notchy as hell when pulling it out. I think it might be broken and I'm wondering abou...

My Wildcat seat harness (tiger) just arrived. If you add that to the handlebar harness (mountain lion) I won in the raffle I've basically got another setup good to go. :-bd

Look at all that alcohol. You should have been at Nant Syddion  Watching Wenchie pour an entire bottle of red wine into one of her bike bottles the following morning was amusing. I never knew bike bottles were that size for a reason - must have been a french invention  Now we'...

Out of interest, what's the advantage of a cuben bag, vs say, a strong ziplock bag?
