Re: 2016 Teddy bearbones

Would love to bring my boys, but 3 1/2 hours each way in the car is a bit too much for us. If anyone would like to do something in the Cotswolds, I'm happy to put something together using my woodland. It would be perhaps a little more aimed at older kids, as the site is basic and the riding a bit mo...
Whereabouts is the wood / camp - it looks looks great in the photo.
The little camping area is in a secret location, deep in a woodland near Stroud. There are no facilities, only a natural spring, toilets 10 minutes walk across a field, where there is parking and a secu...

Re: 2016 Teddy bearbones

Did you want to look into that place in the cotswolds Taylor for bit of a change? (Sorry even though I found it I can't for the life of me remember what it was called! ) I can maybe check it out next week but there's not much traffic free riding to get there as far as I recall. This just down the r...

Severn Way

Thinking of riding part of the Severn Way with my twelve year old son. Starting from Gloucester as it is close to us and heading up stream, has anyone ridden this part or know if it is possible? I know it is a footpath, but on a few websites, people are saying it is possible.

Re: The Ridgeway.

planning on bivvying it? The ridgeway is something I've been looking at for a while. Do-able on a CX bike? Pete, think your near me? Have read that people have done it on CX bikes, but chalk is very slippery when wet. I'm planning on riding to Goring and back (120 miles) over the Easter Weekend and...

Planning to ride part of The Ridgeway from Chippenham to Goring and back over Easter. About 120 miles in total, taking two days, anyone fancy joining me?

Re: 2016 Teddy bearbones

This is just down the road from me, have used it several times, great place, nice pub 5 minutes walk away. Some nice easy rides from here, along the old canal and over the hills. It gets booked up, be quick, it's worth it.

Re: Winter Bivvy Cymru - details

This is the second we've done, shorts & halves are the order of the day to ensure we survive. With 40 miles riding over 9 hours, should burn a lot of it off.

Re: Winter Bivvy Cymru - details

Scott, being able to take a photo after the twelth pub would be amazing in itself. Staying at my Forest Schools site & will be stashing kit in my lock up. A bit of luxury riding with unloaded bikes & the bivvy site has a large tarp shelter and fire pit. But we still need to get there & s...

Re: Winter Bivvy Cymru - details

Would love to be joining you, but have gone an organised a local bivvy entitled 'The Twelve Pubs Of Christmas'. A gruelling 40 mile off-road ride & twelve pubs, well it will be gruelling with all that beer on board!

Have fun, we will.

Re: Boot Gaiters.

Not sure what MT91s are, but these a good for me, 100% waterproof and warm, buy a couple of sizes up if you want thicker socks. Use them on my road bike as well, so I probably done about a 1000 miles in them, very comfy.

Re: Bar harness alternative

Hi Nathan, Have never really thought of maximin or minimum weights. Try to keep the weight down as much as possible, always changing things around. On that trip I used a 13l Alpkit Dual Airlok. Inside was my sleeping bag, 3/4 sleep mat, sleeping bag liner, bivvy bag & down jacket. This weighed i...

I fancy this if I can get my pass stamped. Have just looked at the map and if I can make it could offer a lift to Birmingham Shrewsbury way folks, have a van, so can fit in five. Scott if you could stand my company.

Great wet ride, I remember looking at the river road with you from the comfort of the tarmac and admiring the sun glistening on the water. You a truly are a man after my own heart, if there's sub standard to be done, let's do this sub standard! Good on you.
