Re: What you done t' your bike today

Washed, degreased and relubed it in preparation for putting it up for sale, as for one reason or another I've not been out for ages and have kind of lost my mojo for riding. https://i.postimg.cc/tRxNsBzs/DSC-0723.jpg In the process of doing so I had a bit of a word with myself and have decided to st...

I've nearly bought this a couple of times, do me a favour and buy it so it stops the temptation.

First bike with any form of suspension for about 4 years, first ride will have to wait until tomorrow I've been out in the sun for too long getting angry at internal cable routing.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Not really understanding the overlap. One's a mountainbike and the other isn't. However, I do appreciate that On-One have been fitting drops to Bootzippers and punting them as some type of gravel bike. [/quote] I was looking at the bootzipper for a rigid bimbling about bike, I can and already do us...

Oh FFS I have no self control
I gave in, I wanted a bootzipper but I've got a straggler so there would be quite a bit of overlap.
Just need to find some bargain forks and wheels now.

Quite tempted myself, but I fancy the bootzipper.
Guess I'll just have to wait for the planet X crazy pricing structure to be in my favour.

Genesis croix de fer frame and fork, in excellent condition. There are just a couple of small chips on the forks and a slight scuff on the nds chainstay where the rotor has caught when fitting/removing the rear wheel ( I have put some clear varnish over the marks to stop rusting). Comes with headset...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

That is superb. I actually made a weird guttural noise when I saw the pic. The gumwall tyres pushed me over the edge. Orrsum bike. Thanks, I'm really looking forward to getting out on it, I had a straggler but unfortunately had to sell it a few years back to repair a van. It's the only bike I've ev...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Managed to get an early finish from work, so I stripped my genesis and scrubbed everything clean and started to build up my new surly frame. Unfortunately fading light means it won't get finished until tomorrow.

Re: selling a bike, then regrets and buying another

Yep, sold my surly straggler around 4 years ago as I needed the money to repair a van, it's the only bike I've ever regretted selling and I've missed it ever since. I've just put an order in for a new straggler frame and can't wait for it to arrive, as nice as my croix de fer is it's just not a stra...

Re: Genesis longitude thoughts

So, after some advice off here, and a lot of research I got one. I've just finished building it up https://i.postimg.cc/vHMNwWnh/IMG-20190906-195109.jpg Quick ride around the block, and everything seems good. Not as "long" as the name suggests (probably down to using swept back bars)but it...
