vaguely exciting, cheers Stu.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 11:46 am Wait until the GR are out and I'll do you one if you're stuck. I think it's nice for kids if they feel like they're at least going in a similar direction to everyone else.

WRT kid friendly route
Hi all. I'm considering bringing my son on the WRT but he's only ten. So was wondering if anyone has a short route from BB towers that would be suitable for a ten year old, who's a relatively competent rider, but not the strongest legs? Campsites are fine, but wild camping is good too. Cafe and pub ...

Re: High mount bottle cage?
Anyone know of a bottle cage with the bolt holes right at the bottom, so the cage essentially mounts very high up? Cheers I know of the little bar things that move cages up or down, these are the second best option  I found my Specialized Roll cage mounted low, and thus pushed the bottle quit...

Re: FS: 'Bikepack' brand bar harness
I bought this from someone on here a few years back. It's a great bit of kit, but it struggles to hold my supersized "I'm a cold sleeper" sleeping bag. It's not super clear from the pics but it both of the bar spacers are present. £22 posted to mainland UK. https://live.staticflick...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I find them true to size, but went up a half size for winter boots. Same here. I've got two pairs of the Trailcross XT boots, one for summer in my normal size and one for winter in half a size bigger to allow for extra socks. Works well. Same. Trailcross XT standard for summer and the Goretex versi...

QR Aerobars, thoughts?
I'm looking at adding some aerobars to my gravel bike for longer distance rides, not for the "aero" advantage, but more the alternate hand, arm, upper body positioning. Does anyone have any experience of the Redshift QR aerobars, vs more traditional setups such as those from Deda or Profil...

Re: Sleep system configurations
Only time I take it off is to use it , still zipped up, as a sleeping bag for my feet. It's only ever my feet that feel cold I'm the same, upper body is usually pretty warm no matter what, but if my feet get cold, it ruins everything. Hence wrapping my down jacket around my "socked" feet ...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Are those bags actually any good? I've always considered them as a means of staying alive rather than staying warm. I've got the 1.0 and 1.6. With a decent mat and bivvy bag I find them both to be way warmer than they have any right to be for the weight. They're very small though, in both le...

I might as well throw my hat in the ring again...
I'm not 100% sure I actually want to lose weight. I'm happy with the "weight" / number itself, but would like more of it to be due to lean muscle mass, as opposed to man boobs and squidgy parts.

Re: Fitting tight tyres
Well s##t in a bag and punch it! It worked! I tried the tips above and the one that I think made the difference was starting opposite the valve hole. Overall the tyres are still a very snug fit, but not ridiculously so. Can anyone explain why this technique works ? Isn't the rim structure the same a...
