Wheels, hub sizes etc...
Hi, I'm after a second set of wheels for use with my KTM Ultrafire 650b hardtail. Basically I want a second set of wheels wearing something more tarmac / hard pack friendly, the only problem with this wonderful idea is that I have no idea what size / fitting / width wheels I need. It's this bike her...

Re: North Wales C2C
One thing instantly springs to mind; instead of the main road along Llyn Tegid, take the south bank. There is a cycle way along a lot of the north side but the traffic noise makes for a thoroughly unpleasant ride. In contrast, the south side is a quiet lane. Cheers. I'll take a look. The route defi...

Re: Genesis Vagabond thoughts?
Off the shelf ride away or build yourself? Been looking at the same. Liked the Vagabond but not the Four Corners. Then there are the AWOL and Sequoia but topping those is the new Fargo. Have you seen the price? You could get a Stooge and build to gravel spec as per Andy's gravel bike on the S...

North Wales C2C
Hi, I've been tinkering with BikeHike and I've had the idea of a North Wales coast 2 coast, as in from the Northern Irish Sea coast near the Dee estuary, through the heart of North Wales, past a couple of lakes and on to the Western Irish Sea coast near Cardigan bay. I'm hoping to get to try this ei...

Ridley X-Bow Cyclocross bike
Ridley X-Bow Cyclocross bike Excellent condition, has seen less than 500 miles since new. Size is 52cm, I'm 5'8" and this fits perfectly. Only alterations to the bike are; the chainset is now an FSA Vero 50/34 road setup as this seemed more practical than the original 46/36, also the bike is no...

Genesis Vagabond thoughts?
Anyone got a vagabond ? If so, how do you get on with it ? I'm currently riding a Ridley Xbow, but it's a cx specific bike, and its limitations for bikepacking are starting to show. As such I'm considering something along the same lines, but chunkier, hence the vagabond. Are there other alternatives...

Lightweight walking boots by NorthFace. Bought them about 9 years ago and I wear them when mountain biking. They're still "a bit" waterproof and they're comfy as !@#$!

Anyone used an Agu Secco Condom waterproof jacket ? Looks like a bit of a bargain at around £20 from PlanetX http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CLAGSECM/a ... rainjacket
I can't decide whether to go for this, or splash the extra on a Berghaus Vapourlight hyper Smock.

Re: what gps system are you using and how do rate them...
Does anyone here use a phone (preferably Android) as a fully functioning GPS unit for multiday trips? If so, which app / map combination do you use? And how do you deal with the power consumption issues? I keep toying with the idea of buying something like a Garmin Etrex 20 or similar, but haven't ...

Didn't think I was doing anything remotely interesting, turns out me and the Mrs rode the Lon Las Cefni with our little boy. Lovely day in the saddle, with a few hours on the beach in the middle to break it up. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/14021672_10211227729835476_2720840817674107571_n.j...

Really appreciate the offer. Where in north Wales are you ? What kind of trailer is it btw ? Also, what's the Lon las cefni like ? I've done some riding in newborough, but never out of the forest. I'm over near Conwy area.... it's a BOB trailer. Let me know if you want to try it and drop me a PM. L...

Re: Family bikepacking
We used a croozer trailer and a tagalong to tour with our two young children. As they are a similar age they could swap between the two if the one on the tagalong got fed up. It also meant if the weather was bad they could both forum the trailer. There is loads of room in the back of the trailer fo...

I've got a three years old son, which means a fair bit of hassle and organisation required when me and the Mrs want to go bikepacking as we need to sort child care. Re: Another what bike thread
I'm leaning toward the transmitter, mainly because it has the 1x11 gears, wider range etc. Should be easier on hills for the Mrs. However, I'm reading a few reviews and its being referred to as a dedicated trail bike. Is there something about the transmitter that means it's not as well suited for bi...
