I think I have "large tarp small garden" syndrome, it's a thing, Google it! Alpkit r I g 7 that is 2.4m x 2.8m that is about 8 foot by 9 foot for traditionalists. With 3 poles from Stu I have made a very cosy shelter, virtually tent like. In an open space it pitches much better than the ph...

I made a lovely seat hinge, a seat base and frenched the back light into my mudguard - little things but it's all progress when you're making virtually everything from scratch. Sorry if I am a bit late, but what ya building Stu?? Please let it be a old skool hardtail chopper! I`d love to build one ...

Amongst other things, Tom Devines book on the Scottish Clearances. Amongst other things it adds to my understanding of the areas I tend to ride/run/hike through. I'll be reading it in short stints else my temper boils over. I expect that is a very interesting book. Like you say, likely to make the ...

I've told my wife that all the DIY stores are closed and therefore I can't do anything around the house  Not too far from the truth, I needed some guttering to finish a job (so I can put the bill in) most local builders merchants are shut, the few that are open require orders to be phoned in ...

Re: Patches on bags? To glue or sew?

I`ve always glued stuff , have stuck cloth patches on leather motorbike jacket with Evo stick contact adhesive.
Put some on patch and some on whatever you want to stick it to and allow to be touch dry, then press together, and hold them for a bit.
And I can`t sew.

No food source at all only tents taprs and tyvek!! Make sure they're well out of the way - they'll happily eat those. I do feel a little guilty because I dont think it has done any damage, but the weather is perking up and a dusty shed is no place for a rat in the spring.

Don't do what a friend did when he was at college in a flat. He decided to shoot the rat. So he got an air rifle. Unfortunately he wasn't a good shot, in fact he was an awful shot. The rat would run back and forth whilst he tried to kill it. His shots did find a target: the water pipes behind the p...

This, they are tenacious as hell. In our last house the best solution was to encourage the local fox.
