Re: Garmin inreach Mini

Since my original post (last May), I bought one 5 weeks ago £250 from Blacks/Millets, it`s first proper outing was the just passed Dales Divide. I am very impressed with it, easy to use and the menus etc are quite straight forward and I no tech expert!! Sending and receiving texts from home anywhere...

Re: Dales Divide.

I was thinking uphill but downhill would be better than flat, I'm not used to sitting down that much so was suffering in the rear department :o Out of interest, what ratio/wheel size did you use? I ran 32/18 with 2.25x29 tyre and it was a pleasure from Scarborough on. I've never ridden in the North...

Re: Dales Divide.

My eTrex 30 recorded 31892 feet (9720m) for the route. It's got a barometric altimeter but over that length of time the changing weather could have an effect. I can confirm it is hilly in parts and flat in others  on the singlespeed it would be better if it was hilly the whole way round :smile...

One bike only?

I`ve got a shed full of bikes, some old, some quite new, when preparing for a big multi day ride I am always torn as to which bike to ride, the Wife (quite rightly) says "If you had one, the choice would be easy!"
Have many BB ers the luxury of one bike?

Broken spokes

My 29" Velocity Blunt (35mm) rear wheel with XT hub has had the head pop off of 2 nipples in the last couple of months, the wheel is about 3 years old, it survived the Cairngorm loop 18 months ago. Just wondering why the nipples have failed, is it normal ? I have had broken spokes before but the act...

Just throwing this in the ring, I `ve never used a quilt so I don`t know, but could I assume a quilt is not ideal for a "active" sleeper?

Re: Cowchippers - Front bag options

I couldn`t get the Apidura bar bag to "sit" properly without potentially rubbing the head tube so now use a Wildcat Lion harness, as Colin says, pack it wide not long.
