Re: A question of grips

I like the Ergon grips, they are very comforable, just the right shape (for me).

. Aside from the physical presence aspect, a bivvy bag seems to also assure people that you won't be there long or taking up residence.
It also scares off walkers who think a body has been dumped in the field! :-bd

Re: Dales Divide.

I was thinking uphill but downhill would be better than flat, I'm not used to sitting down that much so was suffering in the rear department :o Out of interest, what ratio/wheel size did you use? I ran 32/18 with 2.25x29 tyre and it was a pleasure from Scarborough on. I've never ridden in the North...

Re: Dales Divide.

My eTrex 30 recorded 31892 feet (9720m) for the route. It's got a barometric altimeter but over that length of time the changing weather could have an effect. I can confirm it is hilly in parts and flat in others  on the singlespeed it would be better if it was hilly the whole way round :smile...

One bike only?

I`ve got a shed full of bikes, some old, some quite new, when preparing for a big multi day ride I am always torn as to which bike to ride, the Wife (quite rightly) says "If you had one, the choice would be easy!"
Have many BB ers the luxury of one bike?
