Re: Etrex 30x or 35 touch?

Here is what i wrote in another post... Another Garmin user here. I went for the etrex 35 touch. That for a couple of reasons, mentioned in no particular order. 1. AA batteries 2. Usable for many activities (I use it for hiking, seakayaking, bikepacking, MTB, roadie, motorbiking). I have set differe...

Re: Seen this before?

I've been using one if those Branantia bags for two or three years now. I sewed on some velcro loops and it works a treat. It is a bit bigger than a Stem Cell though, and can knock my knees when packed full. same as the ones I use. ANd yes can knock the knees. But price is right, and holds my cook ...

Re: Lightweight petrol/multi fuel stove

I'd go with a normal spirit burner. First of you don't need the hassle with the multi fuel. Secondly spirits is available in all but the smallest grocery shops and at the Chemist. here are some pics, and the name. https://www.google.dk/search?q=husholdningssprit&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=950&a...

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

So have done some km on it. It's a nice bike, handles well and predictable. No bikepacking with it yet though. I have noticed some things though. Not sure how much of it is Evans fault or not (haven't written to them yet). Changing the rear derailleur to a zee, and noticed the cable was bad. Bear in...

And apperently marketing tricks isn't confined to your part of the world. We have a hill in in Denmark, they branded it back in the 1700 something Himmelbjerget (Himmel=Sky Bjerget=The Mountain) so The Skymountain. height is 147 m, yes one, four, seven :-bd Way overselling the product

Re: OT; Mount Snowdon

Yr Wyddfa means the burial mound or tomb. Supposedly it's the burial place of a giant - Rhitta Fawr Welsh is one of the Celtic languages as are both Scottish and Irish Gaelic. There are quite a few words that have similar pronunciations and meanings if different spellings. Bugail/buachaille both me...

Re: OT; Mount Snowdon

Yr Wyddfa is the mountains correct name, but then I am sensitive to the how it should be called (being Welsh and all).... Its a bit like Denali which tourists and the naive still call Mount McKinley (for our American friends) or Uluru which was called formally referred to as Ayers Rock (for our Aus...

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

Still some work to be done. Well a lot actually. Changing the front hub one of next few days. Grips and Bar tape, new brake hoses (so it becomes what my muscle memory is used to  ). Then the tideus process of fine tuning the seat hight and setback. So far there is a 90mm stem on it. Might cha...

Re: OoooOooh North Cape 4000 . . . .

I didn't come across any gravel roads in lower Sweden while riding the Super Brevet Scandinavia and I know the Sverigetempot is on fully tarmaced roads. The only bit of gravel road we went down was in Denmark but it was avoidable. This does look pretty tempting though, even if it is a fully road ri...

Re: OoooOooh North Cape 4000 . . . .

Apart from the the sheer number of kilometers.,depending on how they plan the route, it can be a challenge. The obvious climbing in the start. Further up Germany you have the Sächsische Schweiz. Then when you get close to the first ferry point (close being appx 150 200 km before), the tracks can be ...

Not to reassuring Johnny  Do you run both the revo and the C2C in parallel and at the same time (as far as I understand from Stuart's review, in the comments page 2), that it's not possible. Thanks Stuart for messing up my head with those bars :-bd . I really like the Jones, but price is hefty.
