Re: great service

just another example of great service. I called Carradice at the end of last week, asking to buy a replacement leather strap for my Brompton bag after I'd lost one. During the call I mentioned to the person that I'd been passed over to, that I was a repeat customer, and that it was nice to have the ...

Re: OT: Camper van European route planning showing elevation

Excellent thanks both.

I've managed to get the route into Garmin Connect using myrouteapp.com, after Google maps and mapstoGPX.com didn't work.

It's great, and is just what I need.

and a Garmin Camper sat nav is on the pre-departure shopping list

thanks again.

OT: Camper van European route planning showing elevation

A bit of a long shot. We've off to a wedding in southern Italy in May in an old camper van which is vaguely exciting but compared to modern vehicles underpowered and slow, although driving at 50mph (on the flat, less on the hills) means we get to enjoy the drive  Does anyone know of any route ...

We live in a 'golden age' if your bike preferences aren't off the shelf

It struck me whilst I was putting the finishing touches to this (iteration of this) bike build is that we live in a golden age for availability of niche bike parts that allow us to achieve builds that I/ we could only have dreamed about many/ afew years ago. Whilst i know it won't be to everybody’s ...

FS: 'Bikepack' brand bar harness

I bought this from someone on here a few years back. It's a great bit of kit, but it struggles to hold my supersized "I'm a cold sleeper" sleeping bag. It's not super clear from the pics but it both of the bar spacers are present. £22 posted to mainland UK. https://live.staticflickr...

Re: Contents / bike cover for many, many bikes..

Ours is with A-Plan (now Howden appaarently). I have to list all bikes, but i just tell them what it is, when I add one, and what the value is. A recent bike build of an 2001 Cannondale Headshok F&F into a 'gravel' bike, which cost £1,000 in parts to build, was insured for an extra £11.00 on the...

That Moulton brings me much joy, although as a current owner of 2 F frame '60s & '70s Moultons (a mk1 with a sturmy 5 speed hub and a mk3), and as former owner of a custom painted Brigestone Moulton I'm definately biased  I collected the Bridgestone from the Moulton factory, and Shaun Moul...

FS: Shimano SH-M 038 SPD shoes size EU41

I found these in the cupboard whilst having a clear out. They were bought a number of years ago for Mrs Dr Nick. I think they were used once, and then health stuff intervened in her riding of bikes for a while, and they were forgotten about. As new condition with cleats. No original box. The label s...

Excellent. thanks!

Nope, the airnimal is sitting in the shed unused, as I no longer have a daily commute, unless the walk to the front room counts.

Re: Advice sought building a gravel bike.

I've just built up an old Canondale headshok equipped hybrid as a drop bar'd rough stuff/ gravel bike. It's running mostly shimano 2 x 9 speed: Shimano bar end shitfters, (which i can run on friction when (not if  ) I crash it and bend stuff), a 11-36t rear sprocket and 39/24 at the front. I'm...
