Re: Suggest me a backpack to replace this?

Google 'fishing rucksacks' Shaf. They are all about storage and separate pockets and you don't pay for all the 'make it light and comfortable to carry' stuff.

Re: North York Moors 300

Did you do the full YD300? No. Set off from Hawes, cafe in Dent, cafe Ribblehead, French dinner in Austwick (Breton gallettes) and then back to Ribblehead to rehydrate, as Horton pubs shut. Camped Ribblehead, then cut through Langstrothdale to Buckden and back to Hawes. Practicing 'gastropacking' f...

Just snapped another spoke on my current one and needs a rebuild.
It's decent Andy - a nice wheel and pretty bombproof too

Hub feels good and it's running true.

Re: North York Moors 300

Good effort fellas - time to enjoy things. Didn't realise you were tooling up for singletrack, or I'd have warned you. Rigid MTB seemed about right for me last year. If you'd gone for the Yorkshire Dales preamble that was discussed, you could have enjoyed the wind blasted soaking we got on Thursday ...

Re: Which half frame bag?

Thanks all. With birthday soon I've gone for Tailfin. I like the attachment system and printable templates let me check sizing on 3 bikes. 0.8l bigger than Ortlieb.

Re: Anyone fancy it?

Old climbing partner of mine went in the 90's for some first ascents and a ski traverse. The chap they'd booked to pick them up by boat forgot, then weather delayed so was almost 3 days late, with no contact. They'd run out of food etc by then 😬
The tale put me off

Which half frame bag?

For the second time, the zip has gone on my Ortlieb bag - it's my fault, overstuffing it with a tent. What's a good replacement, as I'm considering Tailfin - no velcro, tidy, waterproof and lots of sizes. It's speedy though......

I hope the repair works. Good customer service is hard to find :???:. If not: Buffalo Windshirt, with a fleece of choice underneath. It's all you'll ever need :-bd . Re: Recommend a waterproof jacket

Guess I'd prefer something a bit more heavy duty, so maybe the Patagonia has the edge. Don't they do a lighter, more minimal jacket in the same fabric? Storm something?? EDIT: Storm 10 - https://www.sportsshoes.com/product/pat756/storm10-alpine-jacket?_cur=GBP&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwvvm...

Re: Recommend a waterproof jacket

The haglofs (according to reports on treklite) is only really a summer/autumn type thing.
That's all I'm after for cycling. I'm too soft for winter.

I got one of these, in blue/green - lightweight, small pack size and Goretex. The hood is small, so would be under helmet. Not used it much yet - https://www.sportsshoes.com/product/hgl ... tex-jacket

He can't do what he wants Shaf, just because it's his land - it's not the US :???: I'd say that's a clear case of assault and he's provided the evidence - not that I'd encourage that course. Longest ITT/route on the planet

My Alberta based sister just shared the Great Northern Bikepacking Route, at 14000Km+. Small group start on Trackleaders at the moment. Divided into sections on the website, it goes west coast (Victoria) to east (Newfoundland).

Thanks all. No midges in Wales, surely......? Original plan was N Highlands, but weather and midge forecasts forced the change.
