Re: Tour Divide 2019
Question for the veterans who've watched this year on year... is this the most exciting and mad its ever been?? 2012 was a good year Ollie Whally and Craig Stappler, 2016 was intriguing as there was a very strong field including some familiar names and both the geared and SS records where set. But ...

Re: Tour Divide 2019
All true ^ Sean but the TD appears to be becoming more of a circus with each passing year. I also wonder whether being filmed, especially if you want the footage to look 'pro' would actually be more of a hindrance to achieving a fast time? Sleep deprived, hungry and pissed off? The last thing someo...

Re: Dirty Reiver advice
I'm doing it with the intention of noodling my way round, with minimal time at the service points. I will be taking it relatively easy as I have something else a few days after. Drafting is allowed and I will take full advantage of it.
Might see you there.

Re: XC 29er tyre Recommendations Please
My experience from the last year and a bit. Mitchlin wild race are really fast and grippy, but wear down exceptionally fast. Conti X Kings reinforced are hard to set up tubeless and need pumped up regularly. I've had them in the bath and fuiguired air was coming out via the side walls. Extra 30mls o...

Wtd. Carbon 29er fork.
I am looking for a rigid carbon 29er fork that will take a 2.25 tyre. Does anyone have one they would consider selling. Also what is the steerer length, width and axle size. All considered.
Thanks

The rear skewer from a turbo trainer is designed to bear weight on it. Very sturdy.

Re: How Much !
We all view 'value' differently and most of us will have a figure in mind that we'd pay to enter something. I think it can also matter where the money is going. I rode the Etape Caledonia a couple of times. I think the entry fee was around £45. Macmillan Cancer had their name all over the website a...

There was a previous post about forks about 4 weeks ago. Ended up someone sourced a reputable 29er carbon fork from eBay for less than 100 quid. Check back in the posts.

Using sram rotors with Shimano brakes.
Is there any reason why I can't use sram rotors with XT brakes? The sales guy at my local bike shop sort of turned his nose up at it and made a comment. I don't see the problem, sram rotors are significantly lighter, and it seems to work well. Anyone had any problems with similar brake set ups? Edit...

Sorry. Just been catching up on things. Been working. It's pretty fast as expected, and a few unusual scratches. Thing is what's Darran Smith doing? Re: Road link, goat link or other idea for 11-42t
I'm under the impression it's your front rings that are causing the problems. They are ment to be no more than ten apart. That's incorrect. How come? It states in the wolf tooth comparability data that the front rings should be no more than 10 teeth apart for them to work with a 40 at the back. If ...

Re: Road link, goat link or other idea for 11-42t
I'm under the impression it's your front rings that are causing the problems. They are ment to be no more than ten apart. So I'm running cx gearing of 46-36. And also it's ment to be a max 40t out the back, but I managed to just squeeze a 42 on with a longer b screw. Have a look at the compatibility...
