Re: Wheel Rims - Again

No Tubes rims need lower spoke tensions than several other brands, so maybe whoever built them didn't know that? Unlikely, but you never know. I'd recommend either DT Swiss as they have plenty of options, including some that are eyeletted. Or Jon @ justridingalong is an incredible wheel builder and ...

Poggies for kids

I'm using an ebike to travel with 2 kids (3yo & 5yo - not at the same time) and looking for a solution to keep their hands warm through winter. It's a front mounted Macride and they hold onto the main handlebar and I've put a second set of grips further in. Does anyone know if there are poggies ...

Re: Track pumps with the chamber on for tubeless

I have the Lezyne pump and also a compact 2hp Super Squirrel compressor and to be honest, the pump never gets used now. The pump is OK for most MTB, but for road it isn't always perfect and here a compressor just works much, much better having a constant airflow. Whatever you get, make sure you get ...

The Wildcat one I find good. The weight/protection level seems good. No wear on mine, although it's not had masses of use.

In general the Wildcat kit I find very good and well made.

Another Gatewood cape user here. Complete with Stu's carbon pole. The only negative I find is that in high winds they can feel unstable - although this is likely due to my skill in putting it up I would guess. On good days, use with a tyvek or lightweight waterproof groundsheet and on rough days a l...

Re: UCI adopt Gravel?!

We did once run a winter event where all the GR were Spar. I actually find the Coop more dangerous as they usually have a greater choice ... I once came out with a full cooked chicken, 4 muffins, a big block of cheese, 2 pints of milk and a box of cereal :-bd Oh and there I was putting you down as ...

Re: Wheel build comments ref. the ideal Dyno wheel for bike packing and touring

I can't fault my SON28 hub and also the kLite (road version) is excellent. I was recommended the sinewave charger and have one, although not wired up to use it yet. While SP hubs and all rebranded versions (like Alpkit, USE, etc) are supposed to be good I spend a little more on the SON as they are s...

Re: UCI adopt Gravel?!

The British Gravel championships were the weekend just gone. Looks like they went round a wood called the King’s Forest nr Bury St Edmunds 3 times. The bits I saw looked very flat and a combination of grassy track, forest paths and a farmers field. Self-proclaimed, unofficial "British Champion...

Re: UCI adopt Gravel?!

So this is essentially taking the current UCI Gran Fondo series and copying it to become off-road. It will be run and overseen by Golazo and for any event that signs up to be a "national round" it will cost ~€20,000-30,000. They claim no racing license is needed. Rules are claimed to be li...
