you picking the venue from your book. Hmmm? Tables nicely turned :-bd . . Everybody else scroll down, but for Lu: Real Ale Wobble in Llanwrtyd Wells (November) (there you go!) and many more  Oooh! Is that a hint/suggestion? But £25? Nah, that’s not too much. And I can get there on the train. ...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Just get me roped in! Book might be Wacky Nation by Bamber (BaM-ber!) & Raynes - I've got it, let's do a grand tour. I can appreciate basic 'scenery' as much as the next Boner. "There's a mountain, very nice".For about half an hour. Then I get bit bored unfortunately  . https://...

Good one Lu, with an excellent selection of food and drink! Thanks Chris. A bit too much food though. Re: Has bike packing (off the beaten track ) gone full circle?

Oddly, I have a hankering for doing a traditional tour with panniers, going from campsite to campsite - mostly because I've never done one. Considering how much B&Bs cost now, the savings would pay for the rack and panniers I dont have  I’ve been thinking for a while, that when off-road b...

Re: Last Night's Bivvy

August BaM already done, so this was a bonus. It’s become a sort of family tradition for my son and grandson (me too), to hang out in our hammocks. I trained it* on to Anglesey to meet them and we pitched up for a night of gammon steaks, cider and Jaegermeister (my new camping nightcap). Nothing out...

Oh, and I just read on the news this morning that the Junior Tour of Wales is in town this weekend, so I'll go and have a look  If you'd like to assimilate in to the community, there used to be a Welsh folk dancing group in Brynmawr. Today I came across a new word. Two words for the same thing, actually.

I give you:- horripilation and piloerections.

They sound so silly they cheered me up anyway.

Osculation is another, but that came years ago.

Re: Any Pinnacle Ramin 3+ owners?

Me. I’ve had mine since 2017 and it’s my go-to bike for bikepacking. Bought pre-owned (second hand) from somebody in Cornwall. He’d bought it on a cycle-to-work scheme and must have spent quite a few bob on it, then decided to sell. He’d put a few bits of bling on, - and 11 speed NX gears, fancy red...

Respect! You’re a man after my own heart. It just goes to show that bikepacking meals don’t have to be “add-water-to-a-packet-of -summat-dehydrated”. And it gives you something to do in the evening before bed-time. :-bd

Last minute June BaM in progress. Just finished setting up on second choice of spot and a herd of cows has turned up.

:o :o

I'll survive, I expect, but will my kit? I've seen what cows can do to a tent.

Oh, and it's chucking it down with rain and the wind's getting up. Ooh err missus!

I had a similar thing happen some years ago, but I don’t remember the manufacturer of the pillow. Multiple air leaks over a wide area. At the time I put it down to using Deet. I’ve always been a midge magnet, and not knowing any better, was using Deet spray to keep ‘em off. At bed time, of course, t...
