Farley Mount? I'd never considered that as a bivi spot but I've only been there in the day when it's busy.

^ This
A plus with the Borah is that if the weather is good and forecast to stay that way you don't even need to put an outer up, just sleep in the bivi bag

Re: So It Looks Like I've Been Rubbed Up The Wrong Way....
carbon forks are usually solid around the crown. My Travers Prongs are hollow there, looking inside it appears the steerer doesn't even go all the way through it, it blends into the sides. Next time you cross an old railway bridge bear in mind that its steel work (or worse iron work) will be up to ...

You could ask a carbon repair specialist what they think as I'm obviously just basing my advice on a picture I'm viewing on my phone, but it does look bad

It's worrying me and it's not my fork. That's about the worst location for that damage

Re: 3/4 length sleeping mats
Whilst it might not be the determining factor, what is the weight saving between full > 3/4? UberLite small 158g UberLite regular 264g My normal Neoair Xlite is 354g So if I stuck with a full length mat I'd only save 90g but switching to the small I'd save 196g which 'might' be worth the outlay. Th...

Re: 3/4 length sleeping mats
I think it would stop just above my knees, or maybe at them. It's just occurred to me that the way to find out is to sleep on my current Neo Air but move down the mat so if finishes in the place where a 3/4 on would. I still need to think of something I could put under my feet to keep them off the f...

3/4 length sleeping mats
I'm thinking about a new mat and the Thermarest NeoAir UberLite has caught my eye. The short version is only 158g but it's obviously only 3/4 length, 119cm long. I've previously used an Alpkit WeeAiric which was only 126cm long but that was only 2.5cm thick so I didn't notice the transition to my le...

Re: Today's Run
Return leg of the run commute, which is slightly longer as I go past my mum's to collect her shopping list. She still has a confused look when I say I've come from work as she can't quite get her head round running as a way to go to and from work. Picked the flatter option for the route which still ...

Re: Magpies.
And what's Ralph's view of this behaviour, Sean? He's ok as long as I occasionally ask how he's doing as well. Shaf, I also say hello to just about all other animals, although a 'morning' or 'afternoon' will usually suffice. Didn't mention it earlier as didn't want people to think I'm weird*...

Re: Magpies.
I say hello to every single (as in on it's own) magpie I see. I actually say Hello Mr Magpie, how's the wife and children? I don't say hello if there's more than one as I assume they are already mid conversation. I've idea why I stated this but I dare not stop in case it's bad luck. I also used to a...

Re: Today's Run
I had snow for my ride yesterday, that was unexpected! The current weather here seems to be totally random and not influenced by the seasons any more. 8 degrees and sunny at 8am one day, -2 and snow flurries the next, back to clear but 2 degrees the next, then 4 degrees and hail  I have to ta...

Re: Today's Run
Run commute day, I started doing it every other Wednesday as I think doing it every week was wearing me out, plus I missed riding the bike. I missed the last one due to having to go on a site visit on the mainland so not done the run to work for 4 weeks. When the alarm went off I wasn't very keen on...

Re: Charging from Exposure light
how many times will it charge your phone? My adapter from micro USB to USB C arrived today so I've been able to test it. Toro Mk10 53% to start and 29% when finished Google Pixel 5, 34% to start and 68% when finished, on charge for 50 minutes. The phone has quite a high capacity battery, I can go 2...

Re: Today's Run
Only doing a shorter one today to save my legs for Wednesday's run comutte, planned a route at about 7 miles. When I stated it occurred to me I could go a bit harder as it was shorter than a normal Monday. According to the Coros App I spent 33% of the run at threshold and 62% in the anaerobic range,...

Re: Charging from Exposure light
I've got a Toro Mk 10. I've no idea how many times it would charge my phone though, sorry. I've used it to charge my phone from flat before and the light still had charge. I take the cable when I'm not taking a power bank just in case my phone needs charging but I'm careful with my phone and the pho...

Re: Jones Twitchyness!
The first time I rode with Jones Loops I was trying to ride along a wheel rut and couldn't keep in a straight line at all, I kept catching the sides and came off twice. I'd ridden this route without issue many times, the only firm bit is the bottom of the rut from the tractor wheels. I thought the b...

Re: £wise, spar or cafe?
Don't forget that if you eat at a cafe there's added value, indoor seating (remember that) out of the rain/wind/cold/sun plus a loo. As much as I like sitting on the kerb at a petrol station forecourt eating a cold pie sometimes a chair and some respite from the weather is needed. Depending on the c...

The logo is only on the desktop version not my android version on the phone which is the issue? So on a phone there is no way to the main menu. Stu, you're missing a trick here, I'd be much ,more likely to order a new warmer sleeping bag when shivering in my bivi if it was easy to get to the shop us...
