Re: Criticize my seemingly ridiculous idea....

I think it's a brilliant concept. However, I wouldn't use a rubber washer, instead I'd fit spring below the crown race. That way the spring pressure will allow you to adjust your headset okay. Except it wouldnt though would it? First bump you hit you top bearing is no longer in compression as the s...

Re: night time glasses

I'm not sure I follow your logic re road riding. I've had stuff thrown up from the tyres of cars before never my eye but by god it hurts and leave a welt . I'd say you're more likely to actually loose or damage an eye permanently on a road than off road where its just uncomfortable. Just pointing it...

Re: Criticize my seemingly ridiculous idea....

Re: Stove Starting

Plenty of stuff to go wrong with a flintything. They dissolve which is mildy annoying when its all you have.

So generally a flintything maybe a lighter the wee long necked one but i have some weatherproof matches that live in my firstaid kit which i use if all else fails.

Re: hammocks.

I sleep incredibly well in mine but i set it up almost horizontal the jump in and it settles to a gentle sag when i get out.

Considering making a much lighter simpler one.
With whipped ends as the dd camping one I have is a bit heavy duty!

hammocks.

Who uses one? I've used mine a few times but generally as a second option* and wimp out about potentially not finding trees suitable. Also how tight do you tension yours I've just been watching a few videos and they all look a bit slack to me! *as in take as furniture and maybe use. I do live it tho...

Ray, obviously I don't know the details of your mates disability but if he's able to 'put a foot down' this might possibly be an option. It's a conversion kit that turns any bike into a 3 wheeler, 2 at the front and 1 at the back which usually produces 'better' handling than 2 at the back. http://r...

Just be sure to bring an appropriate drink to match.

Wee bottles of red normally find their way into a more relaxed adventure pack list.

I have also used hookah charcoal on my hive stove for barbequing.

I tend to eat better adventuring than i do at home.
