I agree with this. Also planning a ride is one of the best ways you can pass time when not on a bike. I usually plan for variations to take into account weather or finding a route too difficult to complete in the time available. I always leave details with a friend and this includes the alternative...
Horses for courses comes to mind. Think the Salsa Cutthroat blurs these lines really well but I think that's advertised as a drop bar mountain bike. I can smash out a gravel/road route really comfortably on it but when it gets more mountain bikey it's still capable. If I was getting one bike to do i...
Done. It's really hard to give a clear line in the sand on what would be allowed. Seeing the mess left in the summer around here of wanna be campers it easy to see how the trespass bill has come about without really understanding what the problems are. Whats interesting to see is that campervans hav...
I have the 150 and 250. 250 for 2-3 season comfort. 150 for racing and wanting to suffering "summer" conditions in Scotland. I use them in winter with a Vango Force 10 Catalyst 250 Down Sleeping Bag. If I was buying just 1 quilt I'd buy the 250.
Tony, the bike allows us to get away from the crap in the world, to recover and re-energise. The bikes' probably feeling a bit low and in need of a pick me up. Buy it some nice new presents and in return it'll pick you up and take you on an adventure as a reward for being a caring owner.
Let's start by congratulating a outstanding time. Really incredible. But cut the cr*p, the WHW isn't the most difficult route, most of it is ridable (apart from Loch Lomond and up the Devils). The achievement is in the time not the terrain. Too much marketing bull in that video. Think I'm a bit grum...
I'd like another blue bearbones t-shirt with the shaded tree landscape and a little tent in the foreground as I wear if far too often and it's wearing out. Mine and Cat's favourite T-shirt. Or some slogan reminding people that the west highland way isn't the hardest, gnarliest route in Scotland...ju...
I'm looking forward to a Peaks ride with Steve...I'd better start training. Other than that I've used the lock down time away to resurrect my long suffering race car so we should be racing on 5th Dec :-bd https://i.imgur.com/XxTmjyj.jpg Actual biking events I'm looking forward to are if Covid allows...
What goes around comes around....one of these on each bike :-bd  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cutogain-Adjustable-Bicycle-Mountain-Kickstand/dp/B07H97TRGJ/ref=asc_df_B07H97TRGJ/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=427909170859&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7047858847249083907&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvde...
Did anyone else read that article and found him to come over arrogant and overly confident/dismissive of other peoples abilities? Definitely doesn't come over as a modest character. Great engineer but...I'll won't go on as he's a hero to many. On a positive note he's definitely had a big impact on d...
Shaf don't read the paper (or any news platform) regarding COVID-19. I've had great insight into the world of media for the past 5 months and it's scary. Go to the govt website and check there. Being on the trail I'm not up-to-date but if your struggling I can find out for you. All being well I'm lo...
