Re: Bikepacking with Children Ideas.

When we started bike 'packing' with our kids we just chose a local farm campsite some 6 miles away - made a bit of a route there but it was close enough to home if we needed a quick exit. If pourer with rain all night but we were cosy in our Saunders Space packer tent. We were on our tandem with a t...

Re: Wild camping in France

Audax riders must wear hi-vis when riding through night and I therefore would surmise that this is to do with legal requirements .

Re: Wild camping in France

All advice I would agree with. Bear in mind France is much more rural than England (not other parts of UK) and I find having been 'wild camping/travelling' through France for over 35 years, it helps if you ask at farms or houses or churches - most folks I have met are very accomodating. Even to the ...

Re: Could I die?

Having spent many years guiding folks in pretty harsh and sometimes hazardous conditions as well as doing some fairly crazy things myself, it becomes apparent with experience when the onset of hypothermia begins. There is lots of really good advice here and much worth thinking about. Now that I am m...

Re: Best Rotor Size - Deore M615 Brakes

That sounds about right. Stopping does not just depend on rotor size. We always managed to stop adequately with cantilevers in the past (some of us still do ;-)) Never rely on your brakes - go at the speed that is safe for your ability and the conditions - then you'll always be able to stop! Enjoy

Just picked this up - obviously. Just to add info having read ALL the correspondence. We build trikes for all sorts of people from able bodied nutters (like me) to Paralympic teams and everything inbetween. We also make particular adaptions and between us have personal experience of over 70years of ...

Re: Long Shot - Adult Trikes?

Get in touch with a guy called Ralph Dadswell on Facebook. He has raced trikes and I think holds the record for a tandem trike Pembroke to London ride or something. He's pretty useful, but the opposite end of the other country to you I think (he's South England). We built Ralph's record breaking tr...

Re: Long Shot - Adult Trikes?

How about a tricycle conversion? There's one with 700c wheels on ebay atm. Bolt on Conversions, although we used make them AND they were well constructed, were always a bolt on 'conversion' so we do not make them any more. Best to save a wee bit more and get either a Cyclon (this is an in-house Lon...
