Re: Bivvy a month 2019

Ooh, a Class 20. Used to do a bit of work on D8000 a few years back. Was there the night we fired it up for the first time in years. What a beast. Anyway, riding stuff. It's all got a bit difficult trying to fit stuff in this summer. Did the Jenn ride, then a quick one to Burbage last month with ter...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

I'm quite content on 7 in a row so far.

Just got back from our version of the Jennride in the south Lakes. Lovely two days out and a cracking bivvy in Little Langdale.

Five years and ten months you say....

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

Out last night for me and Joolze up the back of Horton in Ribblesdale. Lots of poking around at interesting bits of scenery and limestone but not much mileage. 6/6 though.

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

It's been busy busy here and Joolze has been in the States so we haven't slept out since WRT. This weekend or bust. Talking of off road LEJOGs we were up at High Cup Nick taking pics and vid for promo stuff of it. I say 'we'. The artistic types did the clever stuff and I rode backwards and forwards ...

Re: Thin Tyres On Wide Rims?

Too skinny will make the tyre profile entirely weird and make cornering sketchy as well. Probably not a good thing.

Re: The Great WRT Bake Off - a plea

I’ve forgotten all about baking and have run out of time. However, Joolze is making two so that’s handy. She wants to know, because she’s too lazy to join the forum, if a vegan lemon drizzle would be acceptable despite the ban on lemon drizzles.

Come Monday will we care?

Re: what disks?

I’d reply with clever little quote things but haven’t got so smart on this forum yet. I’ll practise  Maybe I’ve never heated a brake up so much I’d feel the need for sintered pads. Could be where I ride, could be riding style, although I’m sure I use my brakes plenty on downs. Pound of finest ...

Re: what disks?

I prefer the feel of organic pads. The newer styles of brakes tend to have much better pad clearance so wearing through pads quickly isn’t as big a deal as it once was. Also helps with rotor life. In the workshop I don’t see that many worn out rotors, and bent beyond belief/repair often comes from a...

vaguely exciting stuff. Anyone making the most of the coming bank holiday? Any nice plans? I thought we might do a short one say mid Wales or so. Cakes and castles sort of thing. Anyone else fancy it?

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

Got a quick Peaks trip in for April. That’s 4 out of 4 for me and Joolze.

Jan- winter ride thing
Feb - Dales
March - Peak
April - Peak.

Next one is in Wales somewhere at the start of May.

Loving all the write ups.

Strap obsession

I seem to have developed a minor obsession with straps recently. Obviously it’s partly the fault of Norm and his recommendations, but I do need to check if this is normal - does anyone else spend their evenings scouting the internet for the perfect strap? I wouldn’t mind, but these aren’t even sexy ...
