Re: One for Reg perhaps.

Not too much to do with cycling although there is cycling & the odd bivvy but Jasper Winn's book Water ways is quite a nice read.

Ties in nicely with the Canal boating on this thread.

After starting on a beta alp 125, a few enduros and Long distance trials. My next and only road bike is my Bandit. Re: And the best place I ever slept was ....

I love the deciduous woods immediately to the west of Rhayader. I have slept there a couple of times over the years and it has always been very peaceful. There is something about it that feels "soft" and welcoming. I quite often try and include it when joining the dots on BB events. Si If it’s the ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

European Bikepacking Trip My first bivvy a month, fingers crossed it's not the last... left home & cycled a full 5miles to a hill by a quarry with the sound of the trains on the mainline. Found a bit of shelter out of the wind while listening to the gale force winds close by. The stars were out & a ...

Just reading through the posts and have to agree that a ride to a grid ref to get the next waypoint sounds brilliant. Even better if all the points are on one map?
I’m sure it will be fun whatever you plan.

Re: Laminating printed maps

Maps are great but following someone with a GPS is easier.... But, go to Bing Maps, zoom in to the area you need, Print Screen & into Paint, Print, trim, Laminate two prints together to get it double sided & your good to go. You can wrap them around your water bottle & they should then stay put in t...

Great effort, that’s some trip! Especially the bottom of the moors bit.

Si is right about the Dartmoor way. A great way to have a story to tell...

Anyway, keep up not being soft!

Really enjoyed that too.

Did you have the guidebook or just the GPX file? Definitely a good inspiration for a ride. Also agree with you & Jam Bo, that bit around the bottom of the moors is a pain!
