Re: SS Boost Hubs with freewheel thread?
Boost QR is 141mm  Either way its a 3mm increase either side. Its a good question by Greg though as I'm thinking of a new frame and want Boost for 2 x 10 plus tyre clearance, but would want to run my existing Singlespeed wheel if needed, and I hadnt thought about this. I guess going down the s...

Re: SS Boost Hubs with freewheel thread?
No, but given its only 3mm wider on each side, could you not just space out the hub OLN and disk mount, as an interim, whilst the usual suspects (Surly, WI, Pauls etc) catch up? With Surlys Gnot Boost standard i would be surprised if they dont update their hub at some point.

Exactly what i did last year. Redundant end March. Decided to do the GDMBR in May. Started in Banff 1st August. Finished Antelope Wells 30th September. I wasn't and am not a very fit 51 year old. I did 600 miles round Scotland to work up my fitness and test my kit. I took my time, and allowed for pl...

Thats at the bottom of a cheeky woodland descent in the Chilterns near Mapledurham. Its a really strong belt off that particular fence compared to others for some reason
Even more reason not to lay your bike on it

Re: Titanium 29er On One Lynskey Frame 19.5" SOLD
Ha ha thanks Ian. Very sad to see it go - i agonised for a long time before selling, but with a Singular Pegasus doing the same job and too many bikes in the garage it was time for it to find a new home. Think the new keeper will be pleased though

Born without a sense of smell... so a world I will never know
Still I look at the positives - could have been eyesight or hearing which would have been a tad more inconvenient!
Plus riding for a week without washing really doesnt bother me

Just lose yourself in the scenery man
Guy I rode part of the GDMBR with last summer, played his harmonica. He also thought it was a cool bear deterant. He saw 5 grizzlies including two Sows with cubs in the first week

Re: Water filtration options?
Scotland - burn water. Else where i use a Sawyer mini filter.
On the Sawyers, if not aware, you need to be careful not to let them freeze eg during a hard frost, as the internal is a series of thin glass tubes that will shatter if still have water in them.

Re: Titanium 29er On One Lynskey Frame 19.5"
Thanks Ian, but yours is a bit on the small side, no?
Yes they are a brilliant ride, so light and responsive compared to the Steel Inbred. Only selling as also have a Ti Singular Pegasus that does the same job and starting to pull the pennies for a custom 29er plus in Ti type thing....

85kgs here and used to run 29er Crests and the earlier 29 355s on all my bikes, battered them through lots of rocks with no damage. I switched to Arch though as found them much stiffer and improved the handling of my bikes no end.

Surely a Gravel Dash should involve participants riding a gravel type bike? Think I'd outlaw tyres above 50c and make drops compulsory
