Re: O/T Trials bike curious.
I never had a proper go at it although I often use basic trial techniques in the terrain I enjoy riding most. Trial bikes are extremely specific bikes. Probably the most specific bike I ever sat on, despite having ridden thoroughbred DH race bikes. My next bike will have a chunky bash guard on ISCG ...

Great stuff :-bd Really good to see you back on the bike. Keep up with the physio.. ^this Just been looking into cbd oil as an alternative to diclofenac etc. Heard good results but Bloody pricey! Is cbd legal in the UK? I use cbd against severe head ache. No clue if it helps, but I enjoy smoking it ...

Honzo I always liked the look of, but am in between sizes. The reach is just too big on the L and the seat tube too short on the M, to the point where id need a +450mm seatpost. I'll look into the angleset as that could be interesting. Seeing there are more inputs on long front ends and some intere...

^ Bombers were great. Simple and pretty durable. Had a good rep partly as the tolerances and damping refinement weren't great to start with so you didn't notice that they were wearing the stanchions out : ) I took mine apart once and realised the stanchions had a ridge where the split, part-open bu...

Modern suss forks are a huge scam with there excessive service requirements I don't go by these and the Fox forks I ride haven't yet exploded. They still work butter smooth. 2000 km in one case and >1000 km in another. No service beyond cleaning after about every 10 rides (yes, pressure washer...) ...

And single speed etc... Soon we'll see someone on a penny farthing riding it. The clockwork seems an okay bike, surely it'd be okay to take around the HT550. I too would opt for 29" wheels. But then the 29er Clockwork has 450 mm chainstays. I like to preach how long chainstays take the life out...

I've seen many down jackets but not yet any with reflective elements 'till Ralphi introduced theirs. The way I use my down clothing it's highly unlikely I'll be using it for riding in and if, surely not somewhere I have to expect traffic, but for roadies.. that fast descent from the Alpine pass duri...

Many comparable options cost a similar amount; quick look on ultralightoutdoorgear reveals that most comparable options are actually a more expensive. The other thing is, in such a lightweight system you incorporate so little down, H-baffles start to make less sense. Quite a few manufacturers go dow...

When it comes to suspension, FOX. Absolutely loving mine and - on former bikes now ridden by mates - seeing them still going strong with little care after up to 11 years. 11. Narrow and serious tread. This will cut deep into mud, to a place where you might find grip. Mud tyres are always rather narrow for such reasons. Saying this with a strong focus on mtb's, but surely it'll apply to a gravel bikes too. But then, I my absolutely fav tyres for all out grip are Schwalbe ...

Without having read the article from CyclingUK, a few times a year German bike mags (mountainbiking stuff) have an article about bikepacking and it's not even discussed if panniers are better for obvious reasons. If I where a roadie (tarmac and gravel) touring, I'd not give bikepacking bags a second...
