Re: How do you fit cycling into your life?

For me most miles are commuting at the moment. I'm lucky to work in an office that must have one of the highest densities of cyclists in the world, so that helps massively with motivation and the almost daily group rides. I'd be a ruin from exhaustion if I went on everything. I'm currently doing 18k...

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik

Back from two weeks in Scotland with phenomenal weather. Took a lot more digital photos than I have in months, so quite a bit to share, including the Ft. William DH WC. But, I'll start with this: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1747/41845046974_2bab9d30ff_b.jpg DSC01717-Edit.jpg by Greg.May , on Fli...

Re: Which lightweight "gravel" wheels?

A lot of the folk at work are running the Hunt carbon wheels, and I have to say I'm getting more tempted by the day by a set. They seem super solid, dead light and they don't sound terrible either (if that bothers you at all).

Pennie Way

Hey everyone! Been in the background for a bit this year so far for various reasons, but now I've got my feet on the ground at the new job a few of us have been talking about the Penine way a lot. We're thinking of going superlight (plus camera gear, of course :-bd ), I'm guessing there must be a fe...

Doubt you'd have an issue on the Reading to Gatwick train. They're laid out differently to most trains, loads and loads of luggage space on them.

Worth noting some airlines only allow one complete bike in each box too. Weather they'd check or not is another question entirely though.

Got the Synmat 7 Hyperlite myself. Used it in -8 this week with a Rab Ascent 700 sleeping bag and was nicks and toasty all night long, so no complaints here. Like many of the others, I use it all year round as well.

Couple images that are fairly significant for me. I took these over the couple of days following leaving my old job last Thursday. I start a new job at the end of the month, so in the meantime I've got a whole lotta adventure to have. http://cloud.danielgroves.net.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/NAVwPORl...

Average of 259.8 hours each per year, 10.825 non-stop days per year. That goes up more if you consider that a some would have start part way through the year.

Really impressive commitment :-bd

Dan, the B&W shot - what's it like it you run a yellow filter on it? I'll give it a go tomorrow and have a look, I've not got the iPad to hand right now. Nice long exposure on the second shot. Just the right amount of movement in the clouds. Thanks, I love shooting long exposures but it's alway...

Lots! Current selection: Hilleberg Akto, Terra Nova Laser, Terra Nova Voyager XL, Wild Country Trister Hilleberg: this is my main backpacker. It's mostly replaced my TN Laser now for all year round duties, particularly as the former is getting very tired now after a lot of abuse. Can run double pole...

What's your favourite Scottish bivvy spots?

Long story short I'm leaving work in a couple of weeks and have three weeks off before I start the new gig. My current thoughts are to head to Scotland as it's rare I have enough time off to go that far and enjoy the highlands for a week weeks, I'll have my winter mountaineering gear with me and the...
