Re: Bivvy a Month 2017.
2 out of 2 here as well, cutting it a bit fine but done. Run out of time but I've been stuck all month with family stuff, colds, work and various other bits and bobs. Anyway. A dry, clear night for the most part with a good view of the stars through the tree canopy in the local woods. I'd been expec...

Clothing repairs
I've managed to tear a hole in my jacket, a Montane Prism.
The tear looks like two sides of a 100mm square. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting a repair done please?

That's exactly what it is, but from the outside - to the casual observer- it does look an awful lot like faffing. We know different of course. That sounds like a leisurely evening luxuriating in preparation

Hit a few rocks on the way. Probably needs bigger than 25s.Pickers, those "derestricted speed limit" signs are amusing. Did you manage to hit 60 going down that track?

Out this morning collecting some Veloviewer squares - just 56 miles but it took me around a load of lanes that I'd not used before, including this one....

You mean it works on chains that cost less than £120? I don't believe it...We shall see ... I plan to pop my chain in the ultra-sonic bath later so we can start with a clean slate.

This is true, but it's a shame that Shimano don't buy the quicklinks as well....KMC make the chains for Shimano

Re: Bearbones Fatfighters Club...
I really ought to commit to this, but I'm not going to - not formally at least. I am, however, going to follow a simple path of eating a bit less and riding alot more. As I've mentioned on another thread, I did around 1/4 of the mileage in 2016 that I did in 2012 so that badly needs to change. Let's...

Re: 2017 plans
Maybe this should be in the Fatfighting thread, but I'm putting it here. Eat less, ride more. Having done around 1/4 of the mileage in 2016 that I did in 2012 - my last full year of commuting by bike I need more miles. Or hours, whichever you prefer. I like the look of the Veloviewer squares thing -...

There's been a few Wiggle boxes appearing here over the last week or so. They've been scuttled away and hidden. I'm not allowed to investigate under pain of, well, pain probably.
There's more boxes than things I've asked for - quite looking forward to Xmas now

Re: Advice and guidance reqd. - water carrying and frame bag
In all seriousness, I'll pay some attention to the suggestions here. I have a couple of variations for summer trips (good enough for the mild conditions last weekend); my winter bag though completely fills the front dry bag leaving no room for the bivi bag, tarp, mat and jacket that would otherwise ...

Re: Advice and guidance reqd. - water carrying and frame bag
I've used a half bag but it's very tight even with a medium Ogre.. https://c3.staticflickr.com/1/449/20423481602_d956a2ef69.jpg IMG_0833s by Richard Picton , on Flickr But I can use the braze ons under the down tube as well Nothing further to add here other than to post this, cos it's Colins' favour...

Re: CTC Cycling Bike Bag or Other lightweight solutions
Cheers ChewYes.
One to go between the front forks and a spacer for the brakes
For the fork spacer I drilled a hole in it so you could use the QR to keep it in situ. Negligible space/weight to carry the bits around.

Chew/Stu, Did you bother carrying those little plastic widgets (the ones that come with a new frameset in the box) to keep fork and dropout ends in place and stop them getting crushed?
