Re: Tour Divide 2016

Problem with Mike Halls spot. Which he could be anywhere in the field. Sure he'll pop up somewhere at some point, just wonder what position?? I'm guessing he'll be somewhere at the pointy end of things as Josh is motoring along... I know Mike's not carrying a phone so it could be a while before some...

That's kinda why I've put off punting for a Jones for the last 3 months but doesn't seem to be info about them!

Route planning tips...

I'm potentially got a few friends wanting to spend a long weekend out climbing / walking in the alps end of the summer but as I've got a week to play with I thought i'd pedal out there to meet them. A very rough plan is to get a flight to either Rotterdam or Antwerp then pedal to the foot of the Eig...

Re: Down trousers to sleep in?

Seems there not much weight in the mix. Might punt for one of the point 5 half bags so I can double it up as a sleeping bag for the dog in winter!

Re: advice on upgrading the underwear drawer!

Funnily enough I was thinking this the other week. Wore a rab baselayer for 4 solid days hiking and climbing and was always warm, dry and smell free ... couldn't say the same for the clean pair of cotton briefs an hour or two after heavy hiking! I was thinking about trying something like this... htt...

Down trousers to sleep in?

Does anyone sleep in down trousers and jacket as an alternative to using a sleeping bag? I've got a light down jacket which has been mint to use with a 3 season sleeping bag in the depths of winter to keep toasty and save weight on carrying a warmer bag. I've been pondering about getting a point 5 h...

Re: Very Small compression Sacs..

I use small 8 or 10ltr dry bags, its surprising how much smaller you can make a bivvy or tarp etc my compressing the air out of it. Makes everything waterproof and takes the worry out of it. Use slightly larger bags so it makes it easier to compress the air out. I have 4 for 5 different coloured bag...

Wanting to try a pair of the 29x3.0 Vittoria Bomboloni (fell in love with them as soon as I heard the name!) but struggling to fins a uk stockist. Anyone know anywhere on these shores before I pull the trigger from some where abroad?

Slightly OT...

After a pair of ice axes as I'm doing more and more dry tooling. Something like the Nomic would be grand.
