Re: Has anyone actually managed to buy a bike this year?

They have XL Jehts in stock, although components are in short supply so full bikes have a delay

Re: Has anyone actually managed to buy a bike this year?

Fingers crossed a big box from Sonder arrives early June. I ordered it a week ago, glad I didn't ponder it much longer as the order books won't open again until November apparently... :o I was going to order a Camino at the beginning of the year, but at that stage they were saying November for the ...

Re: Recommend a softshell

Rab VR is excellent as a softshell, but it's not windproof, just wind resistant It's fantastically breathable and adds a layer of warmth, but if you're not yet up to temp and there's a cold wind or air temp, you'll feel it. It layers really well though, which is a real strength I've found myself wea...

Nice one, Sean. Looks like a fun trip. I'm really appreciating the sun being out a lot at the moment. Makes everything better, even if the nights are chilly

Same the hares in the same field again last night. And lots of deer around here. More roe in the forest, spotted when walking the dog or out riding. Also a herd of 6 fallow deer, stopped and watched them for a bit

New one for me, but maybe not for many of you. I've just discovered B&M, didn't have any of those near me before Anyway, flapjack is positively bargainous in there. Smaller flapjack at 19p each, bigger one at 29p each. Former is maybe 3in big, latter is maybe 4.5in big. Plain and chocolate varieties...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021

Good shout Reg I prefer to read about the trips and rides, and always appreciate the write ups. Though, somewhat lazily, don't always post up my appreciation The other threads are usually more conversational so it's easier to put something. My lame 'thank you' or 'thanks for sharing' rarely match th...

Re: Bar light...probably again sorry!

I ride off road with my Strada SB. the one with a 1,500 lumen max for two hours So far it's been fine with a joystick or a diablo, I have both. I have these lights from my bike commuting days, even though I'm not doing that anymore. I found the Strada to be surprisingly acceptable and having enough ...

Re: Anyone using Salsa carbon forks ?

I have Travers Prongs with the fork mounts but despite having all the kit to mount stuff too them, haven't actually needed to

I always think they looks quite 'expeditiony' and my trips usually involve too many pubs/cafes to be classed as those. Not judging others though :-bd

Just discovered that I can't get to it, guessing it's a premium feature only Have others been doing something to ge...

Re: Another busy summer of BBQ, campfires and litter?

Well in fairness, we've go comments on traffic and above average usage. Obviously I'd prefer it to be quiet but it's good that people are getting out Treating the countryside disrespectfully is poor form. Always has been and always will be. Sadly those people have always been there, but with more pe...

The upside is that all the hospitality providers might pull through, and the economy and employment gets a boost from those that have been able to save up disposable cash

The sea summit one is good. Get the one with the lid, it's properly airtight but means you can pack away a wet or dirty mug and the mess doesn't spread

I write the gross and net weights on the bottom of the canister with a sharpie. And I also add a tally so I know how many times I've refilled it. I haven't refilled more than c. 5 times yet but when I get to around 10 or some other arbitrary number, I'll probably bin the canister
